Is it possible to use MDE if both party members buy their own ticket?

I know there's another Disney Experience thread right above this one, but I don't want to steal their thunder:

Hi guys, long time listener, first time caller.

Now, as i'm sure you're all aware, MDE is a fantastic(?) system that really helps expedite a lot of stuff on your Walt Disney World trip, I'm sure; I understand pretty much all of it, except for the topic title.

I'm still young, I don't exactly make the type of money to where I can pay off an entire Walt Disney World trip at one time like some families apparently do. I can do it fine, but I have to do everything in steps; luckily, I have everything paid off currently outside of the bulk of the room (I REALLY wish they took all of the money for that up front, by the way; it'd make things so much easier) and the tickets.

Now, my question is this: can you still be treated as one party if each member has their own ticket? I'm traveling with my brother, and, while I do love him as only a family member could, I can't exactly pay his way; I figured I'd ask this question now so I can get things squared away by the time we make our FastPass requests. I'm sure that'd result in his making his own MDE account and us linking them somehow, but I suppose what I'm really asking is is it more complicated than that? I'm been looking all over for a clear answer to this and for every article I've found on the program that extols its virtues, I'm stuck with another inquiry.

Also, I guess while I'm at it, I'll ask a question about Magic Bands too: do you get those when you show up at your hotel, or do they mail those to you?

Thank you to anyone and everyone kind enough to help!

Your brother can make his own MDE account, link his ticket, and then you can send a friend request of sorts so that you can make plans that include him. Or, you can just make a profile for him under your account and ask him for his ticket information to link it. If he intends to visit WDW without your family in the future, he's probably better off with his own account, but it's really up to you guys.

As for MagicBands for a resort stay, they're generally shipped to you unless you're coming from outside the USA, in which case you pick them up at your resort.

I figured it'd work like that, but I just wanted to clear everything up; thank you so much!

Most of this stuff seems straightforward, but you never know when something might throw you a curveball...
