My family (12 of us) is going to WDW for 9 days in July. We want to spend one day at IOA to see Harry Potter. We are currently not planning on going to Universal.

We plan to get there at least 30 minutes before opening (we are not staying on site) however I am concerned about the crowds... We will be there the week of July 4th.

The question: Is it possible to upgrade a one day ticket to a two day ticket after you have entered the park? What if we have bought our tickets through a discounter?

Since we will be in Orlando for 9 days we will have some flexibility to add a day if we find we want to....but am trying to keep Universal Parks to to IOA only to save $$$

Thanks!

Gail

Yes...you may upgrade your tickets at Guest Services before you leave the park.

So, even a ticket that I get from Chase rewards, it's a 1 day 2 park hopper, would be able to be upgraded?

This is exactly what I'm looking to do, too. Can it be done?

I found another thread on this subject and it appears as long as the ticket doesn't say complimentary on the back it should be able to be upgraded. I just ordered one ticket last week from Chase rewards and it's not here yet. Do you have yours in hand yet?

No, I haven't ordered mine yet.

I would love to know the answer to this as well. It should (better) not say complimentary on the back seeing as the points are money:lmao: I am thinking of doing the same thing.:) That would be great if you could upgrade it.:wizard:

I got one from Chase rewards today and it doesn't say complimentary anywhere, so looks like we can upgrade them. These are a great deal from Chase considering 5000 points usually just gets you $50 in other rewards. I am hoping to get enough points to get 4 more tickets before we go in May. I have almost enough for 2 more now, so I need to earn 10,000 more points for the other 2. I also love that you can combine points from other accounts to get to rewards faster.

Great news! Thanks for posting. How long did it take to get the tickets from Chase? I have enough points for 2...hoping to get 4 before we leave at the end of March.

And I completely agree with you--5000 points for a ticket is a GREAT deal!

It took about 10 days. Have you shopped through the ultimate rewards mall to get points? I clicked through their link but I am still waiting for the points to show up. I wish it would at least show pending so I know I am going to get credit for it.

I am planning to get tickets from chase rewards also but i see it costs 9,300 points for a one day pass and 17,400 for a 7 day ticket. I see cheaper tickets for universal in hollywood - is that where your getting them for? Could I be looking in the wrong place or just not have the right account?

Is your account a credit card or debit card account? I have a Chase ultimate rewards debit card and a 1 day 2 park hopper is 5000 points.

For all upgrade prices go here: http://www.universalorlando.com/Tickets/tickets_2.aspx Find the ticket that you have and note the price. Then find the ticket you want to upgrade to and note the price. The difference between the two prices is your upgrade cost plus tax.

Just an FYI, the prices on this page are the online prices and not the gate prices at the park but the difference in prices between the ticket you have and the one you want to upgrade to remain the same. I hope that makes sense.

yes, it is the debit card but lists universal 1 day pass for over 7000 points.
I've been checking each day to see if they were having a sale or somthing? I must not have the right kind of account? But thank you for the reply.

No, I haven't shopped through the mall yet. I usually use my AMEX for everything, so I don't even think about the online mall. Will have to keep that in mind for next time.
