Is it possible to get a Rise of the Resistance at the 1pm time slot on a Saturday in December (12/18 to be exact).

My family has 4 1/2 days in the park. We can start our first day around noon (assuming no airline delays). My family wants the half day to be HS so they can ride Rise of the Resistance the first day. It seems to me that is a bad strategy as the chances of getting a ROTR boarding pass at the 1pm time slot is slim to none on a crowded day. Anyone have any experience getting a pass at the 1pm opening on a busy day? Is it likely, unlikely, impossible?

There's no longer a virtual queue at ROTR at WDW - it's just a standby line (plus the possibility of buying a Lightning Lane pass at 7am).

EDIT: And, honestly, the biggest problem with that would be that Saturday afternoon would possibly be the longest line of your trip. If you decided to half-day DHS anyway, I'd suggest waiting until early evening to ride ROTR - it frequently has a shorter standby line late in the day.

You didn't state if you are on site or not. If on site you can buy LL$ for ROTR at 7am. That (IMO) would be your best bet to guarantee riding.

This may be obvious, but just to clarify, you need to have a resort reservation on-site to make your ILL before 9AM as previous poster said. You could physically be located anywhere when you go to make it. I would shoot for pretty late in the day if it is your arrival day. Once selected, you cannot change or cancel the reservation. For ILL reservations, you can select your return time from available slots like the FP+ process.

Got it. Thank you. We have AKV reservations on that day. We will be in the air at 7am. Arrive in Orlando at 8:50am. Can you make a ILL time from the airport at 9am?

They will quite possibly be sold out at 9am.
