Is it possible to do AK and a water park on the same day?

I realize both of these are primarily day time activities.

When we are there and AK has evening EMH it's until 8PM (normal closing at 5PM). I was thinking could we go to BB and then AK and still get to AK around 4 to ride safari before they close that.

Later in the week I have a free 1/2 day to do park of choice so we can return if we have to revisit AK.

Sure, we usually go to BB or TL in the summer and stay until noon or 1 when it starts to get unbearably crowded and/or cloudy. That leaves plenty of park-hopping time!

I concur with Bob, it is possible. In the summer, however, the animals are much more active in the morning. By afternoon, they like shade and are somewhat out of sight. Not that there isn't lots to see.

When we go the water parks are open from 10-6. I noticed in the summer they are open at 9AM. I guess that makes a difference.

If you go during nonpeak times, you can do ak during the early morning and get tot he water parks around 11 or so...we have done that in january the past two years. But i really like your thoughts about water park first, and then AK especially if it is evening emh. Darn, time to change the old itinerary again.

After looking forward to seeing AK for the first time this year, we wish that we would have spent half of the day at one of the water parks instead of doing EVERYTHING at AK...sure once was good to see it all, but from now on we'll just pick our must-sees (Lion King, Safari, Dinosaur, etc) and take off for a break in the afternoon or one of the water parks (which we've never been too but would sound like more fun than the rest of the AK was for us. That's just my opinions but I think you could definitely get both done in one day and would be more relaxed at the water park...something I wish we would have done more when we were there - cold whether or not.

On our last trip we drove to AK at opening and did most of what we wanted to do. We got the meal deal at Pizzafari (sp?) and had lunch then went to TL. After swimming for a few hours we then went back to AK for the parade and had our snack. We finished up what we needed to do and then ate at the Rain. Cafe on our way out! For us it was the best of both worlds and we'll be following this plan again!!

Since it's our first time to AK, I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm worried if I cut it in a half day I won't see everything and won't know what I like/don't like.

For a first-timers, would you recommend to move the water park to another day and only do AK for the whole day. A few people I know personally went for the first time and stayed from (9 AM to 6PM) without breaking.

wOW-THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!

I am all for- to pack in as much time in as many parks in one as possible, without killing us.

So I have DS9 w ho won;t do Dinosaur, or the slides at the waterparks.

We aren't going until late Sept. so hours will probably be shorter, but two parks (like this)would be do-able?

Where we would think about leavingone park for a nap and pool time, just head to a water park, knock that out, then go for a nap. Then a quick swim at the pool/ Then leaves an extra day for doing other things or possibly a late night at another park.

How many total days do you have?

We arrive on May 16 (get to airport at 12:30) and leave on May 22 (no real time on 22nd to do anything).

In that time we have to squeeze in:

MGM
Epcot
AK
MK
Islands of Adventure (DH has to do this or he won't go to Disney world)
Pleasure Island (I have to do this because I love dancing)

Then we have 3 pluses, so PI is one and the others will probably be TL and DQ.

There are actually 5 whole days, 1 half day (arrival day) to fit in 6 things (parks, water park). PI and DQ I'm not worried about because I can stick them in the evenings.

We don't have park hoppers. DH says no park hopping for him.

Others may think it better to go another way, but I personally would try to fit both AK and BB in on the same day! It should be early enough in the year that the animals will still be out and about mid-day. Take adavantage of FP for the major attractions and enjoy!

Good luck!

We have done that many times. AK in the AM, then over to BB. Or head to BB first, change clothes and head over to AK - unless we want to do Kali River Rapids, then we stay in our suits with shorts and/or Tshirts over them and don't worry about getting wet.

There's a direct bus from AK to Blizzard Beach. Enjoy!
