Is it possible to change the contract that points are taken out?

Hi, I am just wondering is it possible to change which contract points are taken out of at 7 months out? We own multiple contracts...so for example, we own at BLT and if we booked a 1 BR at 11 months out, is it possible to call at 7 months out and see if they can assign Aulani points for that reservations (since the points will expire if not used by the end of the current UY). Thank you so much!
 
I've done it before - but you are basically at the whim of 7 month availability. The CM checked availability, I'm pretty sure cancelled the original reservation, and then picked it back up with my non-home-resort points. Although the reservation number was the same, so who knows what really went on behind the scenes? :confused3

If you have enough non-home-resort points, it might be easier (and have more availability, since the website is open before the phone line) to book a duplicate reservation at 7 months and then cancel your original, thereby returning your home resort points to your account.

they generally can only cancel and rebook (even if the res number stays the same), so you'd need for additional BLT 1BRs to be available at the 7 month window (besides the one you already have booked).

they are not supposed to reallocate pts in a way that defeats the home resort priority...but that's not saying it has never happened.

This I agree.

Buuuuuut... I was very surprised several months back when I was checking our points to find that they had reallocated my whole account.
We have a lot of points in a lot of resorts separated in a lot of contracts so sometimes it gives me a headache to keep track.
So I have my spreadsheet to make sure I don't go bonkers. And when I open my account several months back my spreadsheet did not match my online account. Total number is correct but where the points belong completely did not match up.
I figured they had completely reallocated my points. Luckily, they did it the way I would have done it myself.
If they had done it differently I probably would have caused a giant stink.

If it's the same home resort or a reservation done at or after 7 months, they often will reallocate them otherwise they generally will not. However, if there are any days available to reserve (as noted above) you could reserve them and sub them into your existing reservation accomplishing the same thing. The other option would be a cancelation and rebooking taking the chance you'd lose the reservation which is actually possible for a reallocation as well.
