Is it possible to carry on our own wine on board of a Disney Ship?

.. We are thinking 2 bottles of port, 2 ice wine, 2 cabrenet... and then we will purchase a few bottles for dinner...:scared1:

Of course we will also have the portable bar for mixing martinis and mogetoees...:cool1:

I hope we can squeeze this all in around the beer and martini tastings...:lmao:

If you see us floating belly up in the hot tub around midnight please do the right thing.... cover us with a towel:rotfl2:

We may need a porter for the roll on items.....

You have paid a good amount of money for the cruise, you know you like to drink, why not save up before the cruise and put the money towards the liquor bill? Especially now with the extra baggage fees on the airlines.

I'm not going on the cruise (unless I get to pick and number and get lucky between now and then), but think I know the answer anyway.

As others have already mentioned, they can possibly get their alcohol en route to the port, and not necessarily have to take it on the plane. (Although, even carrying a bottle or two isn't horrible)

One obvious reason is if you don't want to have to "go out" to grab a drink, if you just want to relax on your verdanah, or whatever. Also, if you like a particular brand (not sure how well stocked variety-wise the on-board bars are), that might be worth your while.

Last but not least, I think price would be a factor. Just simple math for me... I can get a 750mL of a decent midrange brand whatever for about $15-20 ($5-10 for "well" brand). Even mixing on the strong side, that's 8 drinks or so. Compare to $7+ per drink at a bar, there's no doubt I do better to stay at home. At least, I can use that logic to justify buying several assorted bottles to keep in my cabinet. :rolleyes1

Of course we can bring whine!!! Tracy already said Susan was welco..... oops.....

:duck: :scared:

Did I say that out loud?!? Inside voice...inside voice...

I have seen posts like this here and on the Cruise forums for a long time, and each time I ask myself, "Why would people want to lug all of their luggage AND cases of water/beer/wine on a cruise ship?" :confused3

I just don't get it.:confused3

I drink a lot. It gets expensive

I'm not going on the podcast cruise:sad1: (unless I get lucky) and I'm not a lush..really....but on cruises past I've stopped to pick up wine before getting onboard. We also buy a bottle the first night at dinner and it follows us to dinner each night. :woohoo:
DVC got me started on cruising with booze in the stateroom by sending us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. It was great sitting on the veranda having a drink before dinner. Ever since then it's been booze cruises.

This thread reminds me...I have to get re-potting my mint, so I have plenty in the spring to bag-n-carry. Is mint allowed in your carry-on?

We had brought butterscotch schnapps, and apple pucker. You add a little to your coke, and a little apple pucker to sprite. It gives you a little variety to you soft drinks. a splash of each is not enough to feel but a week of pop gets old.

OK, I am going to ask a question here that I hope does not offend. I really don't care what other people do, but I choose not to drink. There has been a lot of drink talk and I am just wondering if you don't drink, do you feel out of place on a cruise?

We have never cruised and are not able to hit the PodCast cruise, but it always something I have wanted to do as a family. So, inquiring minds want to know...
