Is it possible to alter your reservation ?

Hi All, I made reservations for the first 2 weeks in August. The issue is that my son is going to be on leave from the Navy one of those weeks. Being that Uncle Sam is his boss, he won't be sure which week he can get until closer to the time. Can I , when he gets confirmation of his leave, call and taper the reservation to more closely mirror his leave time, without cancelling and making a new reservation ? I am afraid that if I have to do that, there won't be any sites left at that late notice. I would love to spend both weeks there but that's not in the cards right now. Thank you to all. :worship:

You can only change to the extent that there are sites available. If you try to change from the first 2 weeks to the second & third week in August and a site is not available for your "new: dates, then, no you can't change. Sorry.

Are you staying at a site or cabin? If a cabin, you can always look at Shades of Green. As an Armed Forces Recreation Center, room pricing is based on the eligible armed forces members rank (i.e. an E-1 pays less than an O-2) As one of the original Disney resorts, the rooms were a bit larger including two queen size beds, a single sleeper sofa, coffeemaker, refrigerator, in-room safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. If that is not sufficient space, the armed forces member is eligible to secure additional rooms. Maximum occupancy for standard and poolside rooms is 5, junior suites is 6, and suites is 8.

It's a preferred campsite. The window for his leave would still be within that first two weeks, so the change, if made, would be within that window of time.

If you are just reducing the length of your previously reserved stay, I don't think you would have a problem.

I second that. As long as you are simply shortening your original request, you're good!! I do it all the time! Barely ever do they have the days I actually want, so I play with the dates until it will let me book something, and then call back to have them shorten it to what I need. I never have understood why we have to do that!! If 10 days is available, then the 3 I want should be available when I originally book!

I just wanted to confirm that if you are talking about dropping days from a reservation, yes you can do that with absolutely no problem. I believe that you have to make any changes by at least 5 days before your arrival time. I have had to do this from time to time, and it has never been a problem. Adding days is another story-you can't do that unless there is availability.

Also, if you need to drop days at the end, you can actually just check out early without a penalty.

(Caveat: All of this advice is assuming you have a "site" only reservation. If you have a package with tickets and/or dining, then all the rules are different!!)

Yes, it's a site only reservation. I will most likely have to cut a day or two off the front or back side, or both. Thanks all for the input, it looks like I should be able to do that. Hey TCD I would like to thank you for all the pics and information you put up, I'm impressed.:thumbsup2
