Is it possible for parks to stop admitting people?

I just read another thread and someone mentioned something about possibly not getting in to a park if it is at capacity.

Now I am wondering if it would be best to just go to one park a day on the 2 days we are at WDW in December.

We will be at the parks on December 22 & 23. I had thought that we would go to AK and MK on Monday, then to MGM and Epcot on Tuesday (using the EE days on each of those days).

But now I am worried that if I leave one park, we might not be able to get into the other park. Does this happen? Should you just stay put at one park each day during the holiday season?

I think you should be fine for those dates. If it was Xmas or later then it may be an issue.

You should be fine to "Hop" on the dates that you are going. The only day that get REALLY full, that have a potential to close for capacity are Christams eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and Fourth of July. Other than that I have not seen capacity in the parks on just a normal day...

Thanks! I feel better now. This may be our one and only time to go to WDW over the holidays and I wanted to see the decorations at all of the parks in the 2 days we are there.

Now I can go back to our 'Plan A' and park hopping between 2 parks each day.

I would ask a cm. The parks have been known to be at capacity during the two weeks of Christmas. Just make sure you go to MK first as it has closed as early as ten am.

You will be fine on the 22nd and 23rd hopping back and forth as you wish. We were there last year at this time, and it didn't get "crazy" until Christmas day around 10:00am. Have a great time and enjoy the decorations.:hyper:

The one park that's most likely to fill to capacity is the Magic Kingdom. If it looks like it will be full when you're there, go to Plan B. You aren't likely to have much trouble with the other parks, especially Epcot.

Man, I cannot think of a place I would rather not be than any of the parks after they have reached capacity. You must have to ask people to breath at different times to be sure that there is enough oxygen to go around.

Makes me shudder to think about it. On the other hand, I suppose you get to know strangers pretty well. :hyper:

:crowded:

Since you are planning on Early Entry, you must be staying on site. The parks will close to off-site guests before they close to on-site guests. Like the others said Christmas Day is when to worry about it. I would highly recommend going to MK at opening though. MK tends to get very crowded faster than the other parks and you could be in for some long lines later in the day. We made PS's for Crystal Palace on an non-EE day and were able to get into the park before opening.

I am a CM at MK :) The dates in question are not typical dates for the park to be closed due to capacity. Don't get me wrong it WILL be busy, but Dec 22 and 23 are not dates that generally close. As someone else pointed out being a resort guest you are THE LAST people that will be turned away. The tier system that is used when the park starts to fill allows resort guests up until the last phase of a closing...As I stated generally MK does not go to full close except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and the Fourth of July. They may start the tier system on other dates but again resort guests are not turned away until the last phase of a closing. It will be packed, but you should not have a problem with Hopping.

Having most of my trips there in the first week or so of Dec, or other off months of Feb/May and mid Sept, I can't imagine being in any park so crowded it has to close for more people. That's a lot of guests, LOL.

We were there for the Millennium and they stopped letting cars in at 10am on New Years Eve. The Boat Captain said that is the first time they have ever done that. YIKES! Lines extended so far that it took 2 hours to get in.

Thanks LibertyBelle!

I feel better now. I think we are going to just go straight to MK and spend the whole day. That is really why are are coming. I have always wanted to see MK during the holidays. We will be back in September for our regular trip and I want 'hop' around and do everything then. This time I think we will just go enjoy the sites of the park at MK and hope to get into the new 3-D show and the Country Bears (oh, and see the parade and fireworks). If we can do all of that, I will be happy!

Your Welcome :)

Make sure you also make time for Carousel of Progress and the Timekeeper they are both open right now due to Alien Encounter being closed...It is very rare that these two are open so take advantage of it while you can... especially Carousel...what a classic :) Have a great time

If at all possible, take the monorail to the GF to see the decorations. They are really beautiful. You could stop in after MK closes.

I just made reservations for the Cinderella Dinner at the 1900 Park Fare at GF for the night we check in, so I will get to see the decorations that night. I can't wait!
