YAY! The time is almost here.

For those who are going down this week. They have added on 2nd shows for Fantasmic on Sunday and Thursday. The Park will close at 10pm instead of 8:30pm.

I had a feeling they would be doing that.

Came to work at 5:45am and I will be out at 12:45pm. Then a few things to do today and tomorrow. Flight is 10:45am on Sunday. Should be there by 1:15pm.

Hope you have a fabulous time and can't wait for the pictures, it will help me make it through the next couple weeks until I go....

We just booked 2 nights at AKL CL following our cruise in Jan. I am so excited. We have never stayed at AKL but have eaten at Boma several times. We have a time share and usually tag a few days at a value to round off our vacation. DH is not a Disney fan but I am hoping a stay at AKL will sway him. He is a huge animal lover. I already booked the Sunrise safari.

The cruise and AKL stay are 'rewards' for meeting weight loss goals so are am allowed to book whatever I want (within reason) with no input, or grumbling from him.

I have been reading through this, and the other AKL thread and have been learning a lot. Now that we are officially booked I wanted to jump in and share my excitment.

Congratulations on the trip to AKL, the cruise and all the weight lost!
Sound like things are changing in a wonderful way for you!

I got the okay from Wendy to let everyone know why she is away from the Boards. Wendy was in a car wreck last week in her husband's new car (they had it less than 48 hours)...he was taking her out to lunch and some shopping. They were stopped at a light and were hit from behind by a car going around 50 miles an hour. Luckily, her husband was not injured...but Wendy was and the car was totalled. She suffered a concussion and torn neck muscles.

She is getting a little bit better every day but it is probably going to be a long recovery process so it will be awhile before she is back on the Boards. Thanks for everyones understanding!

If you get a chance...send up a few prayers and good thoughts for a speedy recovery!

Some MK hours in September changed too - earlier openings! I'll be down there (staying at BWI) starting September 2. What day do you fly back? LGA or JFK? I'm over in Queens, we are flying into LGA on September 9. Maybe I'll see ya in the World or at the airport!

Yup, went off without a hitch (or, rather, WITH one, if you'll excuse the pun). Someday I'll find time to upload and post pictures...maybe even recount it. Suffice to say, wife was surprised, ecstatic, excited, and very very happy! A good time was had by all. Well, except for my Sister in law..but that's another story (pale skinned people from the NE US NEED TO USE SUNSCREEN!!).

The problem is: I came back from the trip to professional chaos, and it hasn't died down yet. Won't until (I'm pretty sure) late October. Then we'll have gotten through the staff changes, regulatory reviews (FOUR OF THEM THIS YEAR!!), state and national reporting requirements (and massive changes), and everything else. Back more to the status quo.

I've pretty much disappeared from the DIS, except for occasional lurking. The past couple of days I've been "back" while some very long database queries are running and my machine is otherwise held hostage. I'll be back to "normal" come Monday...unfortunately.

Sorry to hear about Wendy. I always enjoyed her posts. She will be in my prayers.

I am getting super excited about our upcoming trip - 5 weeks. And this Sunday I can book our 5 days (DVC) before our cruise on the Dream next summer. I am going to try and stay in a standard view at Kidani. We got our ME info in the mail yesterday. It was funny we got 2. One says no tags and didn't include flight information. The second one had our luggage tags and our flight information for ME. I can only guess it is because we are doing a split stay.

On the down side, our airline (AirTran) has changed our flights 3 times. Each time I had to call and book different flights because the one they put us on didn't work. The only direct flight coming home left at 8:30 AM! No way! We would have to get up at 5 AM. So we got a flight through Atlanta, but we don't get home until almost midnight. But is does give us almost another whole day at WDW, we don't fly out until 8 PM.
