Hi all,

This question is really to those existing Disney brides or guests at a Disney wedding.

I'm so excited that I have convinced H2B and families to have a Disney wedding and am hoping for October 2006 at Sunset Pointe (seems like an age away)

I have this niggling concern that Disney is such a popular place to tie the knot that it could feel a bit like a conveyer belt. Has anyone bumped into another bride - Imagine if they had the same dress!!!

no, they schedule the weddings far enough apart that a situation like that wouldn't happen. Disney is quite proffessional about their weddings, it's nothing like a wedding at vegas or anything.

I actually saw another bride in the GF. She was starting her pictures and my husband and I were finishing ours up. Our paths crossed, we wished each other congratulations, and went on with the day. I think that kind of thing is pretty unusual though. Most brides never see another on their wedding day. And even though I saw another bride, I didn't get that 'wedding factory feeling'. When we were at the wedding Pavillion and at our reception venue Disney did everything possible to make us Cinderella and Prince Charming for the day.

I saw a few other brides at the GF on my wedding day, but no biggie. When it was our time for our wedding, we were in the spotlight. They give you their full and undivided attention. Some brides start having pictures taken SEVERAL hours before their weddings, but the weddings are far enough apart to give you your special time. As far as having the same dress...there are SO many dresses out there, the chances of that happening are SO slim. THe dresses I saw while down there (all week- not just on our wedding day) were incredibly different from mine in all aspects!!

I didn't see any other brides when I got married, and it was in June, which is a busy month for them.

Even though I know they do many weddings a day, I never experienced a conveyor belt feeling. It was the best day of my life, and Disney made it so magical for us. It was wonderful that they took care of everything and all I had to do was be a princess for a day!

We were married at the Wedding Pavillion in a Intimate ceremony. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend doing it there....it was beautiful!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I never get tired of talking about it! :lovestruc

I didn't actually see any other bride (and we got married at the Wedding Pavilion). I did however, have a run-in with another coordinator who so rudely told us to leave the area of the Grand Floridan as a bride was coming in (it was about 5 minutes before the bride was to hop aboard the limo to the WP). It kinda ticked me off because I was waiting for my wheelchair- bound aunt to exit off the elevator. The EM told me that "my day is over and it was time to make someone else feel special". Ohhhh....I was hot. I was 5 minutes out of my intimate reception...MY DAY WAS NOT over by any means. Anyway, I e-mailed that info to the boss of the EM's. He wasn't thrilled about the news.

everytime i'm at disney i see a bride. very weird i think!? i'm not worried about seeing another one on my wedding day though...more people can get married on your day besides you!

That is how I felt. If I saw another bride, oh well....just as long as she wasn't with my groom. :rotfl:

Cherie,
I am so sorry about the rude EM during your wedding. I was getting angry just reading your post. That is so uncalled for, (especially at Disney were most CM's and EM's go out of their way to make you feel so special).

There were 6 weddings on the day that I got married. I only ran into one bride as she and her bridal party were having pictures done in the GF lobby as me and my bridal party were just returning to the GF for our reception. We recognized eachother from the boards and she hollered up my name and a quick hello and everyone waved up to us. It was kind of cute. The only thing that was limited to us by the other bridal party being there at the same time was that we were not allowed to use the grand stairway for our pictures (or to even go up and down to get to the lobby) because it was being occupied by the other group. I thought our Disney photographer could have made other arrangements for us to have some pictures done at the GF, but she didn't. (but I guess thats another story). O, and I did see another bride again that afternoon when we were hanging out in the GF lobby after our dinner. This didn't bother me at all. I think it is so special when you can see another bride walking around weather it is your own wedding day or not. I think it just reminds us all how magical of a place Disney truly is!

Thanks Meranda. With the exception of that one incident, I wouldn't have changed anything. It truly was a special and magical place to get married. Where else can you get treated like Cinderella in the coach (wasn't that amazing!!!) AND get pics in front of the castle!

Getting married at YCG meant my chances of bumping into a bride were limited as fewer weddings occur over there compared to the WP. The EM's are supposed to all co-ordinate with each other to keep brides away from each other but they are by no means meant to say "your day is over" OMG !! That's so uncalled for and I'm glad to see Cherie you made sure that got to the Management team.

That's awful! I can't believe anyone had the cheek to say that to you... I never actually thought about the conveyor belt thing - We're getting married at Sunset pointe, after all it happends at the "normal" places like churches and registry offices, especially fi you get married in the summer months.

I'm just going to enjoy my day - and if I bump into another bride I'll congratulate her too.

:cheer2: :cheer2:

9 months today - agghhh help so much to do so little time :hourglass
