Newbie to RVing, I'm trying to get my RV ready to leave tomorrow afternoon, and it's cold here in southeast Ohio. Temperature is 34 right now and going to be 20 at night, is it okay to run my refrigerator now so that It's cold when we put food in? My husband said it cold why run it now lol...I'm wanting to heat rv up tomorrow morning to get ready for the drive to Florida

IMO if you are not going to run min heat over night so no freeze-ups then I wouldn't think you need to run it. Check iRV2 site free and over 100,000 members who can answer almost any question.

Absolutely, it's fine to turn your fridge on early - we do it all the time - usually 1-3 days before we leave. In fact, I use it for an 'over flow' fridge/freezer sometimes even when we're not going anywhere. It's a 4 door and holds lots of stuff.

Have a great trip - the warmth in FL will spoil you! pixiedust:

It is always a good idea to turn fridge on a day or two early just to make sure it is working properly.

Plug it up, we do. I typically turn both of mine on about 24 hours prior to leaving.

I turn mine on a week before we leave as I start to load it up with food for the trip. I leave Jan 4th and usualy temps are in the freezing range.
