I'm driving along minding my own business looking in the mirror,of course while I'm stopped at a stop light, and what do I see????

A hair... a white one.... in the middle of my dark brown hair. It was long too... it had to have grown between last month and now...

So I pulled it out.... I know, I know...10 more are going to grow in. ;)

WHYYYY WHYYYY I"m only 24!!! :jester:

I shouldn't laugh, but I did... I found my first hair at 25 (actually on my birthday). I did just as you, I plucked it out. I rarely find them now (maybe a total of about 10-15 or so since then) and yep, they've all been plucked... that 10 thing sure is a myth! I'm just not ready for gray yet ;)

Yes....you're totally allowed to have the quarter life crisis. I did. Turning 25 was so depressing for me.....but trust me...26 is much easier.....and you'll start to ignore the grays. Of course I had my first one when I was 16...and the 10 thing is a myth. It doesn't really happen!

PM me if you want to chat.

I seem to be in crisis on a daily basis lately. Go right ahead! You'll not be alone.

Better living through chemicals!!!! Color those grey hairs. :teeth:

Actually Preshi, for one, I would just yank it out too, but once they started taking over, off to the salon I went! And have never looked back.

I saw a different article several months ago that said the concept of a "Quarter Life Crisis" is real and increasing. According to the story, the "crisis" reflects our rapidly changing lifestyle. Young people get out of college and they discover the real world is not all it was cracked up to be. Then they don't know what to do with their lives. My brother is going through this right now. He's 24 years old, has a degree from an Ivy Leage school, yet he hates his job and fears for his future. A lot of people his age are in the same boat.

Oh believe me I dyed my hair soon after.... even though I pulled it out. LOL

Luckily I've been through enough in life and have no need to create any stress for myself... No quarter life crisis for me... :) I just thought it was funny....

My mom's advice " Just say its blonde...really really blonde" LOL :) ( I naturally have blond hilights...when I dont dye it :) )

LOL, poor thing. I think I got my first one about then.

apagano... oh I am glad someone else saw the article too.. I just can not remember where I saw it... I am sure the Merc.. was not the place.. maybe a woman's magazine....

Lord have Mercy.. it is hell getting old... LOL!!

Glad you are not in "crisis" Meagan!! I will say the Nordstrom's has a great Crisis Management dept. tho.. you know.. Lancome, Clinique, etc..etc.;)

All day today has been a weird day!!! And then I get this...from someone I havent talked to in at least a month...

Being Twenty-Something"

They call it the "Quarter-life Crisis." It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realising that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now. You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you. You look at your job...and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you. Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't. One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realise that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward. You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lay in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person. One nightstands and random hook ups start to look cheap. Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic. You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision. You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself...and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender! What you may not realise is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.

THAT'S the one!!!

LOL.. can you say.. do..do..dodo...do...do....dodoo......

how funny!

So that's what happened to me at 25. Once I turned 26 I wondered what my problem was.

yeah... and this morning I called in to work to say I was going to be a little late and my co worker was like " how odd, I thought you were going to call"...

hmmmm.... maybe I have special powers today :)
