Is it ok for teens and adults to do pin trading?

My daughter (15) recently found her lanyard and pins from her Disney World trips when she was little. She said she wants to wear her lanyard and trade pins again during our next trip. Will cast members trade with her at her age? She wants me to do it with her also. Is it ok for adults to do? I feel like we can act like kids if we want to while we're at WDW, but I'd hate to pack that stuff just to have the cast members tell us that we can't participate in pin trading.

yes every one some CM have green ( I think that is the color ) they only tread with kids 12 ( again I think this is the age) and under. and you really do not see to much of these CM wearing then today. any one else will tread with any one up to two pins a day.

Yes adults and teens can pin trade. There use to be kids only tradig times and kids only lanyards but I haven't seen those in awhile.

Absolutely. My husband (23) my sister in law (20) and myself(24) all did pin trading on our trip last year and had a blast.
Like the pp said once in awhile a cm will have a green lanyard or little square that can only be traded with children 12 and under. But I think the whole time we were there we saw like 2 cms with the green.
And if you are staying at a Disney resort or are visiting any, most of the resorts will have their own pin trading boards out a couple times a day. At least ours did (pop century and we also visited the neighboring art of animation)
And Disney springs has a cool pin trading board that opens at random. But is pretty awesome if you can catch it pixiedust:

Have a great time trading!

Have fun! I'm 32 and I love pin trading!
Im not a serious collector but it makes it fun to look for the stuff I like as well as the stuff my daughter and wife like. When I'm at the Pop Century I would go to the lobby at Pop to pin trade on their board then walk to AoA and pin trade.
I met a man who was in his 60s or 70s that that was pin trading and talked to him for awhile. He wasn't staying at the resort but he said he comes everyday. He had a big briefcase and a binder. He told me about how he would go to Downtown Disney everyday as well to trade. Sure enough all 2 weeks we were there I saw him everyday!
I'm at Caribbean Beach Resort right now and Inplan on walking to Pop and AoA on one of our non park days to look at their boards.

Haha we saw that guy as well!
Not trying to hijack the board But Does cbr do pin trading boards? Or is more just the values?

Yes, plenty of adults with pins, myself included. If you go to Epcot, you'll see people outside the pin trading station who sit in chairs and display/trade their massive pin collection. I think it's neat, but kinda think they take it a bit too seriously. Not sure if Disney invites them or if it's just "first come first serve".

Awesome I would love to know! That's where we are staying on our next trip for the first time :cool1:

Ok, yes they do!
You also don't have to wait for a time like at Pop. There is a treasure chest by the food at the concierge desk you can ask to see at any time and each cash register in the gift shop has a foam sword with pins on it you can ask to see. Just traded for a Ariel one for my wife, a tinker bell for my daughter and a Star Wars one for me!!

H-E-Double hockey sticks YES! Go...trade...enjoy!!!

don't forget to look for some of the special pin spots. Like for instance at the stroller rental at Animal Kingdom, go and ask for the "Pin Stroller" They will wheel out a stroller covered in pins. (Just try and be respectful and don't do it early in the AM or near closing while they are busy checking in or out a lot of rentals).

Plus, at her age, its a great way to engage the CMs and talk to them. Each CM has their hometown on their name badge and so you may find one who is from somewhere close to you. Plus with all the college program CMs there, you get a lot of location diversity. Its always a great conversation starter.....
