are there a lot more new visitors on the Universal boards lately? I am seeing so many names that I've never seen before.

It will be interesting to see attendance figures for this year. It appears that there is more interest in USF/IOA than I've ever seen.

I'm one of them! We are going back to US after 11 years and have never been to IOA. We've been to Disney almost every year but wanted to add something different this year. We are anxious to go especially since we are staying at HRH.

I've noticed an increase in activity around here too.

It must be our offensive, poor taste advertising. ;)

Welcome everyone!

I have always visited these US forums, but did have a spell where I just stayed on the UK one's.
Lately there has been some anti-Universal posts on here, so I have returned to give my support to US/IOA. :thumbsup2

There have been quite a few newbies here lately (and not just the ones coming to slag off the parks ;) ).

 Hope everyone loves US/IOA as much as we do

I have certainly noticed it. Let's keep it fun too - our enhusiasm might rub off on the negative lot!

Joh - love your picture in your sig - can you enlarge it a bit?

Unfortunatley quite a few just seem to come on the US forums to slag off the parks Joh :sad2:

Here's the bigger version Maz :)

PS Sorry for going off-topic

Lovely!!! :thumbsup2

And as you're such a Universal supporter no-one will have a go at you for being off topic!!! You were only replying to my question!!!

I am a supporter-not a basher!! Haven't been to USO in 3 years. My DH and I went about every year between 1991 and 1997, until I had DS. (That changed things for awhile.) Went to USO in 2003, we were the sleps that didn't get there until 11:00am (Lesson learned). However the speedpass machines were in existance then and were able to some things without the long wait. BTTF and MIB machines were covered by 3pm!!
Strolled into IOA and WOW was the park and theming awesome!! DS was not quite 5 years old at the time so he was not big enough for the coasters, but we loved it!!
So as I am lurking the boards I start researching USO a little more and realize that spending the money and staying onsite is definitely the way to go!! We will be staying at HRH in early August.BTW don't stay onsite at WDW!!Sorry for the long-winded explanation, but that is MY reason for popping in here!! :surfweb: :sunny:

I'm new. At first I used these boards for information, but as time wore on I realised that the world is a more dangerous place than I thought, as I've discovered that people who spend too time in theme parks are boardering on the psychotic.

In the city of Liverpool, there are two football teams, Liverpool and Everton. By the grace of god, I was born and raised a Liverpudlian. Everton are indeed the poor relation of the city in terms of success and finances. But what this board reminds me of is a song the Evertonians sing, especially these two lines;

"We don't care what the red s***e say,
What the **** do we care?"

The ironic thing is they spend most of their waken hours slating the Liverpool team and supporters. At first, I thought the Disney Ultras were in a league of their own, but there are people on this board who are EXACTLY the same (who? us? we are not like them at all. No way. Not us). People on here say Disney fans are obsessed, unyet some people on here seem to enjoy sniffing out carrion on the Disney boards and bringing it back here to savage with your own like minded people.

For any fanatics on here, and I assume you are mostly adults, the next time you are at US/IOA, go up to "Spiderman" and ask him to climb a vertical wall. You may find that he comes up with a long list of excuses. And there is a reason why he does this. It may then dawn on you of the irrelevance of all the arguements.

These parks are for people to bring their kids and have a good time. The teenagers who visit US/IOA have a great place to go on a weekend. I think all the fanatics should be kicked out of the parks, it would then be a safer place for all us "normal" people.

Well, I guess I am new here. Haven't been on these boards too much since our trip in 2000. I love WDW AND USF/IOA. I wouldn't think of flying all that way and not see everything! I love these boards and get so much info on them. Thanks so much for answering my endless questions.

We're taking our kids for their first trip to US/IOA at Christmastime. It's a surprise for my ds who will be 9. And since I'm a planner, I've been watching these boards for a few months now. Usually it's Disney, but now I'm here!

I'm new, I've learned so much. It does get to me when the negative starts so I have to abandon the thread. I want to learn and save myself and others some money and time. Thanks to all who share the good so freely.

I am new and have been reading the board for helpful info for a while.

If I listen to every negative word, I would never enjoy my life. I went to All Star Music last year. Heard lots of bad things but I loved it! So I never worry about the negative stuff. People love to complain.

Oh by the way I love the commercial were the girl says that if she has to hug one more princess she is going to hurl. That reminds me of my DD.

I'm another one of the new visitors. My first and only trip to Florida was about 7 years ago with my parents. At that time, we chose to only do Disney. If anything was made abundantly clear when reading up in preparation for that trip, it's that there was no way we were going to see everything even just at Disney in the amount of time we had available. My parents aren't exactly energetic, so we figured it would be easier to concentrate on Disney World which was the main reason we'd decided to go to Orlando anyway.

While I was planning for that trip, though, I ran across info about the Universal area (which I'd heard next to nothing about up until that point) and thought it sounded like it would be fun. I decided that, if I ever went back, I'd take the time to see Universal.

So now, due to an excessive amount of accumulated vacation time and a new vacation policy requiring that all vacation time be used up by the end of the year, I've decided it's time for another trip to Orlando. I'm going alone this time, which I'm really looking forward to. I take a solo ski trip every winter, and the occasional business trip, so traveling alone isn't anything new for me. I enjoy the chance to get away from everything and just do my own thing for a while.

This time I'm doing 5 days at Disney and then 3 days at Universal (with one of those days likely being spent at Wet 'N' Wild, since I did the Disney waterparks on my last trip), staying on site at each place while I'm there. I'm doing Disney first because, from everything I've read, I think I'll have the most fun at Universal. It also sounds like it will be more relaxing with the free Express access as a resort guest, and that will be a nice way to end the vacation.

I figure, whenever I end up going back to Orlando for a third time, I'll try to fit in some of the other attractions in the area such as Sea World and Busch Gardens.

I'm one of them too!! We are going to US this year. We was there once before when there was only one park, and we only went for one day.

Welcome to all you Newbies!!! Hopefully you will become regulars around here once you've had your wonderful vacations and pass along your knowledge to the new newbies!!!

do your best to ignore the spate of negativity in a couple of the threads recently. for some reason around here, there'll sometimes be a short cycle of Universal bashing.

ticketing, parks, resorts, restaurants, other attractions...there's always someone who can point you in the right direction and give you the inside scoop on your Universal vacation.
