I have been trying for a couple of days in May as well with no luck. Do not worry something should open up closer to the time. Watch the cancelation board and check frequently for a couple of weekends before your trip.

It is the size of your party. Especially for lunch don't hesitate to break the party up as you'll all be able to sit together anyway. So if you see either a party of two or four pop up, grab it for the time being and use another account to try and book the rest of your party close to the same time. If you do this for dinner, the CMs will try to accomodate you and sit you together but there is no guarantee.

Also, tables of five are sat at tables of six, so if you see a table of five come available on the cancellation threads, don't hesitate to take it. I just got my dinner reservation from a fellow DISer this way.

ETA: Not so sure if this is true for lunch, as the system is booking individuals regardless of table until the restaurant reaches capacity, but it certainly works for dinner, which is reserving based on available tables only. Does that make sense?

I don't know, lunch is still available for my vacation 6/22-7/5, but dinner is not. When a dinner did pop up on 7/4 it was for 9pm. Not sure who would eat at BOG rather than watch the 4th of July fireworks after putting up with those crowds all day who are there specifically to watch the fireworks, but someone snatched it up.

Luckily, I was able to get a dinner reservation from a nice DISer on the cancellation boards for a day we'll be in the MK.

Be up and logged in to your account at 6am, and book BOG first. I wouldn't wait since you want a specific time slot. Better safe than sorry. If your party is larger than four this is especially true.

I got a reservation for 4 by always checking and getting 2 and 2 about 15min apart.

We ate at 9 last year too. One it worked best with the schedule we had (I actually got one way earlier on these boards a few nights before our trip but my wife said nah our plan was better with the later one), and two my DS2 was and apparently still is petrified of fireworks so luckily we stuck with that time (CMs were so nice to let me bring him inside to wait before our table was ready BC of his fear).

I overslept until 6:15 this morning, logged on to MDE in a panic, and snagged a 6:20 dinner ressie at BOG for the second day of our trip! Got a lunch one for the last day!

I have gotten some ADRs for lunch at BOG in May by requesting 1 person dining, and then my daughter will request 1 person dining at or close to the same time. At least a few of us can go in and see what the "castle" looks like (and, of course, eat lunch).

been trying for last 2 weeks august with no luck for BOG dinner by chance i checked and managed to get one on wifes birthday for 8.50, we will just go a little later to park, so keep checking they do come up

Two days ago there was many time available for BOG lunch on July 22 and July 25. I was surprised since it's supposed to be a hot ticket! I tried for 4 and for 6 with similar results. And the times were not bad either.

We are going September 21-28 and I was surprised to not get the time slot I wanted. I wanted a late lunch at BOG as we are also doing MNSSHP that same day. I was hoping to get to the park later that day and do the BOG lunch first (after 2pm lunch). I was only able to get a 12:00p lunch that day. I will keep checking though.
