Is it me or has prices for disneyworld got very expensive, i was thinking about going back maybe next year but the prices look too scarey. It was noway near as expensive when we went last year.

Yes and no. It depends if any promotions have been released for the dates you are looking for yet and who you are looking at booking through. There have been some ridiculous prices quoted for stays for 2012 posted on here, but also plenty of people who managed to get their trip for the same or even less than they paid last year so as always, you need to look around. When are you looking at going again?

Oh and welcome back. :goodvibes Haven't seen you around for ages!

If you just switch on your computer and book the 1st price you see then yes prices have risen.
Do your research, spend hours not minutes looking, be open minded about indirect or using alternative airports, hotels, dates etc then there are still cheaper holidays to be found.
The worst thing to do is say I have a fixed plan, eg "I want to use Virgin, AKL, 1-15th August, Gatwick~MCO."
Be as flexible as possible and prices are not too bad. Our last trip 7 nts Feb half term cost approx £550pp for flights(indirect) hotel(Holiday Inn Express) and car (7 seater Chevy Tahoe)

Thanks, we have always gone with virgin package deals and thats what i was looking at. Maybe i need to think about other options this time. I have to go school holidays or have at least 1 of the weeks then.

Glad to be back, been without laptop for a while x

VH have gone way OTT for me in school hols now. This August for a 3 week trip to OKW they were quoting almost £9,000 for the 3 adults(just priced up and they now want £10204.27), same flights but using Miles and money(econ out, PE home) hotel & 3 x 21 day tix with free DDP Disney.co.uk cost £5,800 total.

Are you willing to fly indirect? That was the answer for me this year, but still, as Wayne says, keep all your options open. Even if you do decide to consider indirect, it is not unheard of for glitches, offers etc to throw a few direct flights for less into the mix. It is a case of anything is possible and you just need to keep checking everything and anything you are willing to consider.

The prices do look scary. I agree, but I still think when you think what you get its still great, unbeatable?, value for money / enjoyment.

Example: I took the plunge and applied for Olympic Tickets at the weekend. For 6 of us for 5 different sessions, in absolutely the cheapest seats in the house, = £800. Thats for a combined total of about 18 hours action, and without travel, food, spends etc. Not once again will I whinge about the cost of Disney Tickets!

When I loook at what 18 nights is costing this July for us, even though its a substantial amount of money, I think its great VFM.

As others have posted - still deals to be found. Good luck with your search! :thumbsup2

This is why I would never book with VH.Flights are still with virgin booking direct with VA and a lot cheaper. Accom through disney with the low £200 deposit is still a great deal. It is like wayne said a case of looking. We looked for 4 months before finding the deal right for us.I always said never again to a travel company like VH or CO but CO had flights less than VA own site and the OKW with tickets and dining was slightly less than disney. I have always booked flights quite late even when we went august one year but it just cant be done now with VA as they keep putting flights up and up. Hope you find a good deal. Its part of the fun planning anyway.Put your dates on etc then we can all have alook for you;).Set a budget as well.
