I consider myself an experienced Disney traveler :earsboy: ; however, I am a recent DVC member. I have been reading several posts on this website :3dglasses and I was wondering if anyone else's endorphines start to kick in like mine does when you visit this website and read the responses? :earseek: It's like the magic continues :wizard: as you are instantly transported back to WDW or one of your recent Disney trips. :moped: Or maybe you start seeing yourself and your family at your next Disney destination. :cool1: Just curious.... :confused3

Dear Man_Of_Leisure

What a cool first post!

And my answer is YES and YES!! :cool1: :cool1:

So, where is home at DVC????

Welcome to the DIS and the DVC Board. Also Welcome Home.

Yes - the boards help me through my "home sickness" for my DVC home. That little kick helps me realize I have another trip home and it really helps discussing it with my DVC friends. You know the ones that don't always say -- You going to Disney AGAIN?

This is a good point and how true. :cool1: The more I visit this website, especially the DVC board, the stronger the desire is to go again! Even if I just returned! :confused3 Also, I find myself thinking that I need more points, which I don't. ;)

This board is very adictive.

I am a new DVCer (SSR) and new to the board :cool1:

I can't wait till my next visit

I miss the :wizard:

Thanks for the responses. :earboy2: The DW :earsgirl:, DS :cool1: and myself :earsboy: will be going to our new home  for New Years. :hourglass We have a trip :moped: planned for next summer to HHR  and I have a couple of questions. :confused3 How difficult is it to get reservations at the seven month window for HHR in the summer? :confused3 If I purchase a resale of 50 pts or less at another resort am I entitied to the eleven month reservation option at that resort? :confused3 Because 50 points would not get you an entire week at a DVC resort, would I transfer points from my account with SSR into my other resort account or are all the points in one account? :confused3 How does that work? :confused3

Oh yes, and the medical term is add-onitis. It is spread by kissing  and strong pixie dust.

Your 50 points could be used at the 11 month window at your home resort. You can bank and borrow, thus having a maximum of 150 every 3 years.

If you want to add other points from another resort, you would be able to do so at the 7 month window, assuming there were still rooms available.

I'm afraid that you can only book your home resort 11 mos ahead of time. The other half of your trip (from the other home resort) would need to be booked 7 mos. in advance. Many people make a cash ressie and then change it at the 7 mo. date. :confused3

My DH and I own at OKW and BWV because we would stay at either of those places, although we prefer OKW. :teeth:

I would buy the place nearest to your heart, where you think you would stay the most. I also prefer buying contracts with the same resort and the same use year. It makes things very easy :umbrella: . However, you, of course, can do anything you like.

Welcome Home. You are in for the time :hourglass of your life

I am definitely exhibiting the symptoms of addonitis. :goodvibes :bounce:  :Pinkbounc I currently have 300 points at SSR :cheer2: and my plan :teacher: is to purchase another 150-200 points because of the way I like to travel and how much my family :earsboy: :earsgirl: :cool1: loves  Disney. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo So I thought I might purchase an additional 50 points each for OKW, HHR, BWV and BCV :earseek: providing me with the opportunity to make the eleven month reservation window for any of these resorts. :smooth: However, if Rumplemom is correct :teacher:, then I could only use the points from my account for that specific resort and have the eleven month window at my disposal for just those points. While that makes sense , I don't understand why I couldn't transfer points from another resort account and still take advantage of the eleven month reservation window. :confused3 If I own at multiple resorts wouldn't I receive the benefits of ownership from each resort? :confused3

I also am intrigued with LauraJean1014's response. :) How would I make the transfer from a cash ressie to using of my points at seven months? :confused3

Yes that is correct, you would only be able to use the points at the specific resort at the 11 month mark. For example, your 50 HHI points could be used at HHI at 11 months, but the 50 points from the other contracts and your original SSR points would have to be used at the 7 month mark.

Here is what I have done for spring break next year. I have 180 points at BWV, 50 at BCV and 55 at HHI. I called at the 11month mark and booked a studio for 5 nights. At the 7 month mark I will try for a 1BR when my BWV and BCV come available, but I at least have a studio secured.

As for HHI in the summer. It can be difficult to get a ressie on points at HH in the summer months. Especially if you want a studio or 1BR. HHI is comprised mainly of 2BR units. I suggest calling immediately at the 7 month mark if you want HHI in the summer. Also the more flexible you are with your dates, the better your chances.

Nope nothing does that for me like calling to make my res and then the day we leave for the drive down and the driving under the welcome to WDW sign.

That 11 month ressie window is exactly why we have both of our contracts at the same resort. When we purchased, there was only OKW and BWV. We purchased OKW because that was our preferred resort. Within a year, we realized we needed to nearly double our points, so we purchased another contract. When the decision had to be made about OKW or BWV for that second contract, we thought about it for awhile, and decided we wanted ALL our points available at OKW, so that is how we came to hold 2 OKW contracts.

If I were you, I would add on at HHI and BCV since they will be the most difficult to reserve at 7 months out. OKW and BWV will be much easier to get at 7 months, although the BWV standard views might be more difficult.
