Is it just me?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that there is nothing that looks good on the menu for the new Avatarland restaurant. I get it is supposed to be "alien" food but I was looking over the menu and there isn't one thing I would order, and that includes the desserts. I am just odd or does anyone else feel the same way?

Most of it is a startch base (rice, lettuce, and quinoa are the options I remember ) and then a protein (chicken, beef and maybe tofu). The only thing different about it was the fact it is a bowl but almost everywhere that I get lunch has bowl options now.

It all tasted great. I would say the media photos haven't been the best because they got to build their own bowls.

I think it looks like pretty normal stuff you'd find anywhere. I eat a quinoa and kale salad with fish weekly, and this seems just like it. Of course, I don't think chicken nuggets and hot dogs are real food, so I might be the weird one:)

I live in California, so it looks pretty normal and routine to me. I am excited to try it out when we visit Pandora.

The bowls look pretty normal to me. The steamed buns are something I have not tried, but not too unusual. The chocolate cake sounds interesting to me.

I hope to try something when I am there next month.

We have a lot of fast casual places by us that use the "build a bowl" model (tex mex, Mediterranean, Middle eastern, Indian) - this is our version of "fast food." And the steamed buns just look like a riff on Chinese steamed pork buns.

There are plenty of places on Disney property that serve burgers, chicken nuggets, and the like --> I'm VERY happy to see Disney options for those of us who aren't interested in that.

I was worried about the same thing, because I'm a picky eater, and I tend not to like trying foods that are presented or prepared in a "different" way, even if they're something I'd normally eat. That said, I had the cheeseburger pods and loved them. I couldn't even taste the pickle (I normally order my burgers at fast food places with no pickle), and the bao bun was just the right texture. Also, when you order online (and in person, I'd imagine), you can get a double-order of one side or the other, rather than getting them both. I got the vegetable chips and liked them a lot. They tasted just like normal potato chips, with a little extra seasoning on them.

I actually think it looks fantastic and so does DS9! We love the "build-a-bowl" concept and aren't big processed carb fans, so the menu suits us quite well.

I live in a foodie town in the Pacific NW. Nothing on this menu is anything I would even consider remotely weird! The steamed buns, rice bowls, quinoa and kale are all pretty easily found here.

My family tends to be relatively health-conscious when it comes to food options, and I generally make healthy bowl options at home 1-2 times a week.

Personally, I am thrilled that some fresh, healthy quick service options are being offered! I love a Mickey Bar as much as anyone, but after a certain point, I can only take so many burgers, chicken fingers, and fried items before it just starts to make me feel sluggish and crave something healthy.

It's all in what you're used to, I guess. I'm a very plain eater - grilled chicken, simple salads, raw veggies. I also don't like my food mixed together. So it's not for me, but it's good to know others will like it.

I can't quiet put the cheeseburger buns in my mind because I'm so in love with Chinese steamed pork buns...yum!

Pork buns are in my top 5 foods and so I was disappointed to see cheeseburger buns. I gave them a shot and was plesently surprised.

I agree, I was so excited when I saw these on the menu, until I re-read that they were cheeseburger buns, I just don't know what to think about that.

Looks good to me especially for the reasonable prices. (Reasonable for Disney)

We loved the food. DH had beef and I had the tofu. We each got different dressings. They were delicious. Nothing weird about them except the little balls, which you can't even actually taste. We did not try the bao buns. I was disappointed that you can't specify toppings at all like you do with a regular burger. What if you don't want cheese, or relish, or whatever?

The best thing we had at Pandora was the pineapple cream cheese spring roll thing. Sooooo good. Like the Yak & Yeti dessert except you don't need to get a TS ADR to buy it.

I think it is great that they are adding variety at WDW, and enjoy the different salads, and healthier options around the parks. This particular one is a pass for me. Colors are off putting and remind me more of Willy Wonka, than Pandora (okay, so I don't think anything would remind me of Pandora . . . ).
