Is it just me, or is AP Days sorta lame?

So, I went to my first AP Day

For some reason I thought that the character meet and greet would be a rare character brought out of the woodwork for the APs, but it was just Goofy in his Halloween costume. Which is nice, but really not worth spending over an hour and a half waiting in line for. Would have been easier to take pics with him in Town Square over at Disneyland.

Is it really lame, or did I miss something awesome cuz I didn't do enough research?

I went in February for the first time and came from out of state to experience an AP day.

Pros: free pin, water bottles and popcorn. Acknowledgment of being an AP. A place to sit and escape from the 90 degree weather

Cons: Long lines, only 1 character.

It would of been great to have several character meet and greets going on at the same time. It was not worth a special trip but if I'm by chance in the park for the day I'll stop by for pin and water.

And, as Darkbeer1 stated above, Disney chooses to hold these events during slower times to pump up the numbers. What is wrong with that business decision? .
Darkbeer & I are saying the same thing just with different words. So if you agree with him why do you disagree with me?
