Is it just me or are Member Service people just miserable?

I swear the last 2 times I have called I have gotten the crankiest people EVER!! Today I called to cancel a reservation and she was so grumpy and rushed I could barely figure out what she was saying. Time before that I asked a question I got a very curt "NO!" and a "Is that all?" when I said I guess not she hung up. I asked a question today to verify what she had told me since I thought it would be one thing and it was actually much longer then I thought and she actually huffed at me.

So am I just getting the cranky ones or are they all like that?
 
I think you were unlucky. I've called MS about a dozen or so times in my DVC "career" and I've only had one crank-tastic CM ... but she was a doozy!

I have no proof, but I'm pretty sure the lady flat out lied to me about OKW availability b/c my request involved a few fancy maneuvers with cancelling days, changing points to cash, etc. that she just didn't want to perform (or didn't know how?). I know for sure she was down right rude. I called back immediately after hanging up with the snarky CM, got a CM who happily processed my request and confirmed that Old Key West had plenty of availability for my dates. I'm just glad I was booking at a large resort for an "unpopular" time in a one bedroom ... I would have been royally ticked if I were trying to get some special room right at the window for a high volume timeframe when minutes mattered.
 
I've had some very sweet CMs lately, very helpful and knowledgable. With the after-call survey, I'm surprised to hear they were so rude to you.

Whenever I've done the survey lately, it always says something about 'if you want to leave more info or something' go to disneysurvey.com/dvcmember. Maybe you should go on there and let them know about the CMs. Did you get their names?
 
When I first waitlisted for my one night NYE studio, I had a grumpy CM who told me I had little chance of the waitlist coming through. I persisted in setting it up, and then when I needed to confirm borrowing the points got a sweet CM who encouraged me to waitlist BWV and BCV, saying for one night it would probably come through -- and she was right! We were able to spend NYe at BWV (preferred view of course) and had a lovely NYE!
 

I've never had anyone grumpy. Today might be a bad day, everyone is grumpy coming back from the holidays.....:sad1:
 
I've had some good and not so great experiences with Member Service cms.

I don't think I've had a grumpy one (well at least not yet), but I have had a few indifferent ones, a few uninformed ones and a couple who answers the phone like I've bothered them. :sad2:

But I also remember quite a few CMs who were very helpful and professional. :)
 
I've never had anyone grumpy, or even anyone who seemed like they didn't want to help. I have gotten a few that weren't as well-versed in the system as others, but in general, I have found them all to be OK, with some who are exceptional.
 
I called member service this morning and got a very friendly, upbeat CM. Maybe I've been lucky, but in the 16 years we've been members, I don't recall anyone at MS being grumpy.
 
Called twice in the past week and all were very friendly and helpful :thumbsup2 Sorry you got a cranky one!
 
I have never had a bad experience with anyone from Member Services, if anything, they go out of their way to help...

Must have caught someone on a real bad day.

All the CM's that we have dealt with have been great so far. :thumbsup2

I can honestly say in 13 years of membership, I have never gotten a grumpy MS castmember.
 
Well atleast its just me LOL. I've had some good ones but OMG the last 2 times have been horrible. I get to call again in 2 weeks to make my reservation for our Dec trip hopefully I get one of the nice ones then.

I called tow different times today and had great people both times. Maybe you just had bad luck.

Been a member since 1999, multiple trips each year since, have to say that I've never had a grumpy, rude or unhelpful CM. Could have just been a bad day for that CM, we all have them. Maybe the CM had a tough caller just before you, sorry for your experience, good luck in the future.
 
In 9 years only once did I get a grump. What I did was ternimate the call, called back immediately and got a nice friendly one.
 
I've had one or two who could use a little 'tude' adjustment, however as with anything, if at first you get a crank, hang up and call back again.
