Is it just me? (free dining related)

Is anyone else having trouble booking/pricing their vacation online and the phone because of the free dining? or is it just me?

I was on hold for about 15 - 20 minutes before I spoke to an agent (when I finally got through), and then 20 minutes to modify my reservation and speak to the people at MDE for a weird thing I had for seeing my friend with 2 accounts instead of one.

now on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes. And I am not even doing this for me since we are AP holders, doing for or friends who are going with us. At what point do I hang up and try again?

Happens every single time the free dining promo comes out. The phone lines and the website both get totally overwhelmed and crash. It happens to a smaller degree with all promos but the FD one is the worse.

Sadly, waiting on hold or continually clicking is your only option. With the offerings so limited you'll want to jump on it as soon as you can get through.

I was on hold for over two hours to change my dates so I could have free dining. My family laughed at me till they learned I saved over 400 dollars in that two hours.

We managed to make a new booking because I can't repeatedly call the US getting a try again later message the cost adds up(as would a couple of hours on hold)
I need to cancel my other reservation, any idea when it should die down so I can call through?

Did you check to see if you can cancel online? Many can now, but maybe it's only US accounts?

Yes free dining created quite a mess yesterday with phone lines and the website for Booking yesterday. Today the site seems to be running smooth, atleast as of this morning

The site was running fine for me this morning. I was able to modify my reservation on line to include free dining. I did have to switch from a preferred room at POR to a Royal Guest Room Garden View to qualify for it but it ended up saving about $700 so it was worth it.

I'm not looking to book a vacation until next year, but I was one of the people who waited on hold for hours to get free dining in 2013. Then I saw online ads and tv commercials promoting the free dining for a full month after I had waited and booked on the phone. So this year, I was curious to see if I could get a free dining reservation if I waited until the day after it had been released. I just went online and, hey! I can! AoA Lion King Family suite with QS free dining plan, easily and with no delays or waiting. Oh if I could go back in time! I'll be remembering this for next year.

I'm always stunned that Disney allows its site to be so bad. I would think it would be embarassing.

Yesterday when I called disney, after finally getting thru to that magical voice, I was told its a 1.5 hour wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I hang up. (im at work afterall Lol). All day long at work i've been trying to apply the free dining to my existing reservation online with no luck. It kept giving me an error message. When I got home, I called, finally got thru.....I was told the wait is now 2 hours. Ugh. So I wait while at the same time I kept trying on my home computer, again no luck. I finally decided to try applying the free dining from my smartphone. I figure, it wont hurt right? IT WORKED!!!! I got the free dining applied successfully! On my smartphone out of all things!!!

This all happened after being on hold for 1 hour 20 min (kinda annoyed because thats 1 hr 20 min of long distance I have to pay for, for nothing! ).

Anyway, I got it. It was tough, but I got it. Thats all that matters.

Dang. Was worth a try. Maybe the site is still messing up today and it will work tomorrow? I know the modify link comes and goes from mine almost daily
