Is it in poor taste to use new postcards for YOAMD mailing?

Well, the postcards are not my favorite, so when DVC sent a bunch, I thought I would use them to send in for the Year of a Million Dreams postcard drawing. Do you think this is in poor taste? Will Disney just toss my postcard away in disgust :rotfl: ? Oh, I am like a regifter at Christmas :confused3 .

I think they're yours to do with what you want, and I think they qualify as an entry postcard.

Bobbi :)

I wouldn't ONLY because with my luck they'd draw my card for the 220 DVC pts and see that I sent in my DVC postcards and think "oh, they already have DVC, we'll give them a pin lanyard instead". ;)

Start here:

Click on "Create Your Dream", then, "Build your Dream", then, "Bring Your Dream to Life", then it will say "What a Wonderful Dream" and ask you to log in to the contest and afterwards thank you for entering the YOAMD contest. :teeth:

Good Luck and remember to take me with ya!! :rotfl2:

Hate to bring this up but you could be disqualifying yourself. That contest is only a 1 time entry per person. It may accept your extra entries but it probably isn't counting any past your first entry.

For the rules:
"3. LIMITATIONS: Entries are limited to one entry per Member during the Term."

I think you are right... once received... they are your cards to do with what you want. Frankly, I don't understand the expense of packaging and the delivery by FedEx..? I think somebody new at Disney is trying a new marketing scheme. Stop it... These aren't gifts... these are simply marketing schemes that have no influence over me at all... I'm not going to send these cards to my family members to get them to buy in... Just not happening. Wasted money. Stupid mistake. As a Disney shareholder, I am really wondering what is going on in DVC marketing?

This isn't a new venture -- DVC also sent out postcards to members about 2 years ago.

The YOAMD rules also require a 3"x5.5" postcard. Of course you can trim these. Also using as-is requires a $.39 stamp versus $.24 for a stnd postcard. Otherwise, why not.

I have yet to see the size listed as "3x5.5" -- first it was 3x5, then 3.5x5 -- and I've been wondering if they're taking the "real" USPS post cards which are 3.5x5.5 -- they're keeping us flummoxed! I suspect the contest is contracted out there in IL and whoever draws the cards out at whatever time for whatever prize doesn't pay much attention to size, appearance, etc. -- just that the info is correct. Out of the millions of cards they're getting, I doubt they do much sorting. (Didn't know they were doing any at all online for YOAMD -- though the online thing ended in Oct -- will have to check that out).

You're correct, I mixed up which side had the .5". As to the std USPS card, believe it or not, I've trimmed the other .5" from the width.

I didn't get any postcards! :sad
Diane, we just got ours 10/26, so they're still sending them out. Yours are probably on the way also.
