We are going to disney in July and we are leaving the 1-8th and i was wondering if my memory cards would be enough one is a 52MB and the other is a 4GB card think its enough for a 7day trip?? ( i probably will take pictures on the plane too) And does anyone know how much they cost at WDW? Thanks for the help!

Maybe. The questions that come to mind are what type of camera are you shooting with? do you shot RAW or JPEG only? do you tend to take lots of pictures or are you selective as wo what you shoot? I went last year and only shot about 500 shots but know alot of people here that would only be a half day of shooting:lmao: so 4GB may work but memory is getting cheap these days so having more than you need isnt that bad of a thing these days

Do you have a friend who uses the same type of card? Maybe you could borrow a card or two from them just to be sure.

Personally, I go through 4GB a day at WDW, but that's me and I'm shooting RAW. Your habits are probably different.

If you can buy a 4GB card at newegg or buy.com for say $15, then at Disney a 4GB card is probably $75 if not more.

As for "Is it enough?". Well that is based mostly on your own personal shooting habits. My last 7 day trip I brought 6 2GB cards. I was able to get about 330 or so images per card. Luckily I also brought my laptop and I was able to download 2 cards worth of images to the laptop because I went though 8 2GB cards.

Some people will go though a lot less and there are others who have gone through more. How many images can you get on one 4GB card? How many images do you think you'll take. If you hang out on this photo board too long you'll probably want to get 3 or 4 more 4GB cards. There are just way to many great photo idea's you can get from visiting this site for to long of a time.

I always say, figure out how much you think you'll need, then bring an extra card or 2 above that. Better to have to much than not enough.

Not for me :confused3

Not for me either, but like a lot of people have said...if you are using a P&S, shooting in lower quality JPEG or just not taking that many pictures, it may be. Now that I am using a dSLR, I have about 22GB of memory purchased in preparation for our trip to WDW in 09.

To put it in perspective, when I used to use my P&S Canon SD300 Elph, I would take 2-1GB cards and have more than enough space even though I got hundreds of pictures. Now, with a dSLR, I went out to the zoo for one day of shooting and shot 6GB worth in a single day.

All depends on what type of camera you are using and how much of your trip you plan to spend snapping pics.

Everything is much more expensive in WDW. If you are using a regular P&S, you can get memory SO CHEAP....better to stock up on an extra card or two not than have to download pics onto a disc or buy another memory card for 3x the cost in WDW.

When you turn the camera on and put in the empty 4GB card does it say 1k or does it have less than 1000 images.

If the average file size is 6MB and 4GB is 4000MB, then 4000/6 = 666. That's at the highest resolution setting on that camera. If you go to a lower setting then you'll get more images, but the resolution in the end wont be as good, especially if you like to crop and/or get enlargements.

Just something to think about.

Ill have to check later cause im getting it for my b-day this year But Thanks for all the help and ill remember that!

I would personally recommend in investing in more memory, I've heard of too many cases of problems from swapping cards between cameras, even if the 2 cameras are the same make and model and you format the card in the camera you're using at the time.

for the few dollars you would save by borrowing cards, is it worth the risk of losing valuable vacation photos..
