Is it easy to find SuperShuttle pick up at LAX?

Flying in soon - after we claim our bags, is it relatively simple to locate where we'd get our van?

Yes, just find the Shared Van signs (Orange), they are on the lower level at the main curb next to Terminals. When you find one, there will be two signs, one for SuperShuttle and another for Prime Time Shuttle. Just get in the right line. There is usually a dispatcher at each pick up point.

Let us know how it goes. I don't recommend ss.

Why??? I have used SuperShuttle multiple times over the last few years, never had an issue, either at LAX or at my hotel pickup. I am a solo traveller, on a budget and I dont drive so Supershuttle is ideal for someone like me

I've had bad experiences. Driver didn't know where he was going. Took 2 hours to get to hotel in low traffic.

Next driver knew where he was going but I was holding on for dear life.

I don't remember the other times but they were enough to make us stop.

It's primarily why i fly to SNA now. :P

Did you fill out the feedback survey they email you after the ride? I had a terrible experience once (driver had no clue where he was going; the only other local in the van and I ended up having to give him directions and it took forever.) The company sent an extremely apologetic email and refunded my ride. Aside from that I've never had any problems with them over the last three years (and I take them to and from LAX a lot.)

Super Shuttle worked very well on my last trip. OP, I recommend you download their app and then you can manage your trip and check-in before even getting to the curb. You can also track your van with it. I was picked at Terminal 1-2 and we made the loop and off we went. It was great.

WHAT feedback survey? I've never gotten one of those!

While SS was better than the no-name rattletrap can we stupidly took from SNA last year, it's still not my fave.

Only reason we took it last time is that they sill had availability and Karmel didn't when I realized the day before our flight that I hadn't booked anything.

We've never had issues with SS from/to LAX or SNA , but definitely prefer Uber now. Though to LAX it's much more expensive due to distance SNA is our airport of choice for many reasons.

If you like SNA, you would LOVE LGB (Long Beach), same 14 miles away from Disneyland, and a smaller, nicer airport than John Wayne (SNA).

By to go choice of airport transit in the area is Go Sedan and its private car options.

My wife and I have travelled with SuperShuttle before and the experience was not great. If residents are sharing the shuttle then the van itself will go to some seriously weird parts of LA, areas that will remind you of various horror movies (if you've ever seen them) such as the Child's Play series (ie, featuring Chucky the doll), Elm Street and other places.

We're using Karmel when we land on Monday at LAX, will see what they are like but I have seen decent reports about them.

I think one issue about "Shared Vans" in general, but also with any arranged transportation, is the driver and other factors.

Every company has great drivers, some fair ones, and a few ones that are having a bad day.

It doesn't matter if it Super Shuttle, Prime Time Shuttle, Karmel, a taxi, Uber, Lyft, etc. It is luck of the draw.

As for Shared Vans, you add into that who you are matched up with. Dispatchers and computers help group folks to the same area, but it is luck of the draw whether you are first or last on the list of drop-offs.

I personally don't trust Uber/Lyft, since they refuse to allow their drivers to undergo a true security check with fingerprinting, etc.

So I use a licensed transportation service with drivers that are vetted. And while I have used the Shared Vans in the past, I have decided that using a private car (only your group) is worth the extra costs. Since the price is agreed to in advance, no surprises like with a Taxi.
