Are there cabs waiting for passengers outside hotels and parks at disney, or does guest relations have to call and get one for you? If so, how long is the wait? Thank you!
Parks as well, though the cab stand can be a little hard to locate at the parks. Ask at the bus stop - the drivers will tell you (its often past the buses). At the MK, you get cabs from the TTC - so not convienent - or walk to the CR and catch your cab there. (When we take cabs to the MK, we have the cab drop us off at the CR and walk, or the GF and take the monorail the short way).
The most expensive cab ride we've had at Disney was about $15, including tip. The least expensive $3.50 plus tip - Boardwalk to MGM.
Also, just FYI, the Disney-recommended cab company is Checker Cab. We always look for that company now, after being taken on a few (ahem) scenic tours of Disney property on our way from point A to point B.
We also saw some pretty funny takes on that name, like Check-her Cab Company.
There never seemed to be a shortage of cabs outside the resorts, downtown disney and theme parks.
One hotel that doesn't have cabs readily available is Shades of Green. I had asked about getting a cab at their front desk when visiting there this past September and was told they had to call one and it would be 20 minutes. I was surprised considering the Polynesian had cabs waiting right outside their lentrance and is only a 10 to 15 minute walk away.
Just a little tid bit that can be good to know just incase.
