I've been to DL 20+ times, but have never been to a Halloween party. I'm seriously considering canceling my hotel reservation for next August's trip, and going instead in October for a Halloween party with DS5.DH, and my DD's 18 and 14 are all tired of Disney and wouldn't care. Is it easy getting tickets? Please don't tell me it's anything like getting campground reservations at Yosemite, when ALL available spots are booked under 30 seconds from the opening of reservations. I'll know ahead of time ,before tickets even go on sale, the exact dates I can go.

Impossible to know for sure.

It used to be very easy.

Even post-pandemic, at first it wasn’t too bad - I believe some dates had tickets for weeks or even months.

Then in 2023, a combination of technical glitches and high demand made it extremely difficult. Some people spent multiple days in online queues for hours and never got tickets.

For 2024, they added dates and didn’t have all the tech issues, so while some dates did sell out quickly, other dates were available for a few days.

If you’re trying to get a high-demand date, you will want to make sure you’re on top of it - maybe use multiple devices, etc., but on the whole, I’d say you probably can get tickets.

last year it was a nightmare getting tickets and I wish I didn't bother. I didn't enjoy the party at all.
I wouldn't stress if you never go - it's not that good for what it now costs to go.

As long as you are aware of the on-sale date and ready with a list of dates and backup dates, you should be good. This year was much better than last year thank goodness.

We have gone two years in a row now and we LOVE it. It's a highlight of the year for my son, he truly talks about it all year long and is already talking about "next year" ha ha.

Bear in mind that October is absolutely slammed at Disneyland due to fall breaks—the crowds are insane and it can be very hot. September crowds are much better, still busy but not the insanity of October (though September still the potential to be very hot). This year the OBB parties started in August (a bit early for me!) and ran throughout September and October, so you are not locked into October by any means.
