Is it difficult to get singles seating?

I'm not making any reservations for dining when my solo trip comes up at the end of April. I've written down the various restaurants that I want to visit at each park or resort that I plan to be at. Some places have counter seating and some don't.
I would imagine it's hard for a family of 5 to just walk in and get a table but what about a single diner? Do you think they can't fit in a single diner when there are no reservations?

I would think I single dinner would be just as difficult as a family of five. The ideal for Disney is the same amount of people in the party as the number of places at a table. So a family of four is ideal as most restuarant tables are four tops (at least that I've seen at Disney). You would be looking for an open two top. There seems to be less of these and there are a lot of couples who go to Disney and do make ressies. I would think you would be okay at table services with counter seating, although I can't really think of any right now.

With the exception of a couple of meals each trip where I meet up with DIS friends, I don't make ADR's for my solo trips. But that's because I'm happy to eat counter service and snacks when I'm solo. On a couple of occasions, I've tried to get into a table service restaurant spur of the moment, and I've never been successful. I didn't mind because I was perfectly happy to grab some counter service, but from my experience it's just as hard to get a walk-in as a solo as it is for a larger party.

If there are certain restaurants where you know you want to eat, or if you wouldn't be happy eating counter service the entire trip, I recommend making a few ADR's.
