Is it December Yet?? Cancelled with a Heavy Heart!

Phew! I am now all caught up!

I absolutely LOVE your binder! You must be a scrapbooker right? Because there is no way I could do one to the scale that you did. I'm just not that artistic I guess, but what a cool way to keep track of everything you'll be doing. And fun to look back on years later. All my trips are in folders and is not very organized

I'm very sorry to hear about your dad passing  I lost my father and grandfather on the same day 5 years ago, my grandfather from old age and my dad from a massive heart attack 2 hours after my grandfathers passing.

I'm loving all your ADR's! I wish we could have that many this time around.

We have less than 6 months to go!:dance3:

Now that the ADR's are set, I have an idea of how many resorts we'll be getting to for meals and which ones we'll need to go see on our "Resort Day". We are renting a vehicle and this will let us go visit all the different resorts to see their Christmas Decorations & Edible Displays.

So there are 22 WDW Resorts (I've included the Swan & the Dolphin) (but not including the villas):

We are staying at 3 of them: Pop Century, Port Orleans~French Quarter & Art of Animation.

We are eating at 5 of them: Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Beach Club & Port Orleans~Riverside.

We will go see these 6: Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom, Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk & Yacht Club.

So we will see a total of 14!!! Not to shabby!!

The ones we won't be going to: Ft Wilderness, Caribbean, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Coronado Springs, All Star Sports, All Star Movies & All Star Music.

I wish I could visit as many sites. But I'll be happy with the monorail resorts and hopefully get to the campgrounds and take in the homey feel and, at least 1 of, either AKL or WL.I wish at Christmas time, WDW would set up a resort to cluster bus system. The monorail resorts are pretty easy. Take a bus to MK or EPCOT and you're there. But if I could take a bus from POR to the Boardwalk resorts, instead of going to TTC or EPOCT then get on another bus or walk thru the park to get to the water taxi, would make it immensly easier. Even if it was select resorts to select resorts and other resorts to other resorts, at least it's an option.

And I wouldn't worry about the position for your son. If the BBQ pics are any indication, your family is very animated and the staff at WDW will see that.

I used to scrapbook, but really haven't had the time since the twins came.....so I'm way behind!

 Thank you.....the last 7 mths have been rough, but we'll get thru.....luckily I have a very close knit family!! That's so sad about your dad & grandpa.....wow, you hear about that happening and wonder how someone could manage so much pain all at once. :sad1:

We originally started with the basic dining plan...but we wanted to do the character meals & table service meals.....so it didn't take long to figure out we needed to upgrade.

Woo Hoo on being under the 6mth mark!!!! :woohoo:

It's too bad that they didn't have resort to resort shuttles during the holidays. We knew that with our situation that using the WDW transportation would not work for us......getting a rental is why we'll be able to go exploring. Otherwise, we'd be somewhat limited on where we did our meals too.

Derek will do great!! I guess if he's still doing that in December....we'll be adding another resort to the list!! :goodvibes

So with the Epcot ADR's working for some & not for others, I decided to see what would pop up if I didn't request a restaurant but just entered the date, time & EPCOT.......the restaurants all come up except for these six:

Bistro de Paris

Coral Reef

Garden Grill

La Hacienda de San Angel

Le Cellier Steakhouse

Rose & Crown Pub & Dining

I know these aren't the only restaurants on the Candlelight Processional list....but they must be the most popular choices. So at least now I know which ones are being held & why some people are getting ADR's in Epcot.

Now if we would just know.....WHEN we can do our ADR's.....that would be awesome!!

So Derek uploaded a few pics from Day One in Orlando. He stayed at the Pop, and had dinner in
DTD.....here's a couple pics to share. (this gets me really excited for the trip!!)

Great pics from Derek. that is great he was able to pick out his roomates ahead of time, giving them all a chance to find out about each other a little before meeting

Even though he is not working at one of the parks, he can still get into free to the parks, so he will still get to see a lot of decorations and such

Fingers crossed though he does well in auditions though:goodvibes

I'm glad he was able to do that too....Makes showing up in a new place a little easier.

I know he'll get lots of park time in....just makes it harder for people that go to WDW to pop in & say hi!! (unless they're staying at the All Star Movies)

I know he'd be thrilled to be a "furry"!!! :goodvibes

Love the pics Derek sent you!

Good luck on his auditions!

Thank You!! :yay:

Well with Disney Dining hoarding restaurants at Epcot.....I went back and looked at the 3 restaurants we're waiting on. Coral Reef is one I really want to do.......I wanted to do the Garden Grill because of it rotating & being a character meal......LeCellier because everyone says we need to go there. So should I just hold tight or should I go back and rethink those choices..........welllllllllllllll, :rolleyes1 I rethought.......I only made one change & booked our dinner on Dec. 8th. We're having dinner at San Angel Inn!!! :woohoo: Our favorite cuisine is Mexican......and we hadn't booked a single mexi meal. So I'm pretty excited about it. But which one did I give up???? The Garden Grill...... :sad2: I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews from here.....and to be honest with you.....we still have 9 character meals.......so this one seemed like the right one to give up.

As for the CP package....we're looking at LeCellier.....but I won't be totally devastated if we don't get it. I've looked at the menu and could find something....but I haven't been head of heels excited about it. I think we decided on Rose & Crown and Teppen Edo as back ups.....but gonna go study all the menus of past CP restaurants just to make sure. Definitely won't want to make any changes once that is set.

Ok, I hadn't even looked Chef's de France.....but wowsers!!!! It is now top of the list for the CP package!!!! Back up: Le Cellier and Rose & Crown.

FWIW, we were surprised at how much we enjoyed Garden Grill last year. I expected very 'meh' food and found it quite good. I agree that it is the one to cancel with all of our other meals.

San Angel has been on our 'never' again list for a few years now. We did try La Hacienda last year and loved it. We will be going back there this year. But, I have seen some great recent reviews of San Angel and am rethinking going back maybe next year. So I will be anxiously waiting your review.

Add us to the Le Cellier lovers. We are trying lunch this year. Have always done dinner in the past. The mushroom filet is my absolute favorite meal on Disney property but I am going to try to convince myself to try something new this year.

Rose & Crown is also a must do for us. But I love that type of food and we cannot get it anywhere around here.

Very good to have your back up plans in place. So frustrating that they do not have the restaurants open for booking! :headache:

We really enjoy Chefs for lunch, not so much for dinner. I had the best burger ever there last year. Of your list above, it would be 3rd for us ... R&C, Le Cellier and then Chefs. That said, we like them all very much but Chefs only for lunch.

We're hoping that San Angel Inn is good.....we really love our Mexican food!!

As for LeCellier.....I'm not a huge steak/beef fan & really not a fan of mushrooms!!

So.....out of curiousity....I decided to see if I could book Chefs de France for lunch on the 8th.......and I was able too!!!!!! So now the only meal not booked is the CP one.......so hopefully we'll get Coral Reef (I want badly.....Tyler....not so much so, not a lot of non-seafood choices) That still leaves LeCellier as #2 & Rose and Crown at #3.

Is Chef's the one with Remy?? I know I saw something about his appearances being at certain times of the day......just wondering if we're in that time zone or even the right restaurant.....lol

Yes, and he is adorable! I believe he is there thru lunch time every day except Sunday.

Vicki those pics are cute!!! I think the kids will love that added bonus to the meal!!!

Glad to know I am not the only one rethinking my ADRs :goodvibes

That's what happens when you have time on your hands..... :rolleyes1 If I would have been able to set them on Sunday.....I would have left things as they were. It also let me go back & count credits & I realized I had 28 not 27!! :scared1: So I cancelled our last day lunch at Planet Hollywood.....I'll just use the gift certificate (or whatever they call it) we get from the Disney Travel for merchandise there. I was concerned about the concentration of meals that day anyways.....now we can snack while we're in DTD!!

I heard Chefs De France is pretty good. I have heard Le Cellier has really gone downhill

good move :thumbsup2

Chefs de France - Remy 12:30, 1:40, 2:50 and 5:20 except Sunday

He makes 1 round through the restraunt. Appears unless there are "mechanical" difficulties.

Your new and improved ADR list looks great! Think you have some good choices there.

Fun pics Derek sent you! Cant wait to see more as he sends them. When are auditions for characters?
