Is it December Yet?? Cancelled with a Heavy Heart!

The Radiator Spring section reminds me of CarsLand which is opening next week at Disney's California Adventure. The pics do look amazing.....but the Lion King movie has a special place in our hearts (especially with my 20 something sons) I love the Little Mermaid, so me & Addy would be in heaven staying in that room.....lol

I wouldn't want to leave the car full at DTD and hesitant to leave luggage in over night at one of the resorts.....but the thought of lugging 7 peoples suitcases & carry-ons for an overnight stay seems daunting.....lol

I have a friend post on her fb that she went to the preview of CarsLand and loved it!!

I have an 18 year old and it's the Lion King movie for him too! For the 8 year old, it's definately Cars! I love the Little Mermaid too, I think there's enough with Sabastian and Flounder to make it manly too.

:dance3: Count me in!!

Yay & WELCOME!!! :wave2:

I have a couple friends that are CM's at DL and they can't stop talking about it......it's that amazing!! I'll get to see it in February on the Dis Diva trip!!

Oh my 11 yr old would chose the Cars theme for sure!! I think my family would be happy with any of them ........ Finding Nemo would be our last choice...... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I'd love to do the Lion King suite!!! If I win the lottery between now & then.....we'll do that one!! :goodvibes

I'm kinda OCD, and would probably prefer to handle my luggage myself anyways. Do you think its safe to leave luggage in your vehicle at the resort parking lots?? Just wondering if we need to lug it all in on the first night & then lug it all back to the car and into the registration area of POFQ? Are plan is to park the car at the FQ and take the boat over to DTD for the day. Just want opinions on how safe leaving stuff in the vehicles is.

I would have said yes, but I have read here in the Dis that it may not be a good idea. We will have a car with a trunk so we may be Ok taking the chance but I don't know about a van that people can see into. I think we will lug though just to be safe.

I think we'll just take it all in......don't want to ruin our trip by being ripped off!

That's my thought, too. Even if there is only a 1% chance of anything going wrong, why risk ruining a Disney vacation! On top of that, we were rear-ended last week and the adjuster totalled our car. We have been in rental car/insurance/new car heck for the past week. Would not want to deal with any of that if the car was broken into in Disney!

Hopefully your room will be near the parking lot so you don't have so far to lug it. Although you can always get bell service to take it to the main building.

I hope your car woes end quickly. When dh got rear ended by a drunk driver, Geico (the drunk driver's insurance) cut the check almost immediately to us. But my friend got rear ended recently and they are in their 5th week of rental/repair nightmare.

Definately don't want to deal with that on vacation!

Oh no......hope everyone was ok!!! Insurance claims are never fun.....sometimes they want to "pay you off" quickly.....but its best not to accept it right off. Medical issues can show up days and even weeks later (depending on how hard you were hit). I hope this gets worked out with as little of stress as possible!!!

We'll figure it out.....luggage racks work pretty good for hauling (and we've filled them up before.....almost like tetrus, filling every nook & cranny).

That is what loading the back of the van is like for us. It is extremely fun to pack for camping when it is 6 of us. It is totally crazy!!

You mean like this?? :lmao:

That's a pretty good packing job! I am a bad packer, I overpack and there's no room for us.

Well we all got in, but we had suitcases & backpacks all around our feet....so tight quarters. I believe it was a 12 passenger van with 10 of us in it, 4 in carseats/boosters, 2 strollers, etc. That was going.....you should have seen it coming up with all the stuff we bought...... :lmao: (unfortunately, I don't have a pic of that)

Doesn't really show you how packed the van was....but there wasn't any part of that van that didn't have a bag of something stuffed into it. We left very little foot room.

(can you tell this was the ending of a trip.....everyone's a bit wiped out) :rotfl2:

Hi there! I'm pretty late (6 months to be exact) but i'm sure you won't mind me joining in. Marking my spot and will be back to catch up :goodvibes

Well the day I was dreading all week has arrived.......tonight I say good bye to my baby. :sad2: Ok, not a baby anymore.......but he'll always be my baby. Derek (22yrs), is leaving tonight for the Disney College Program. He'll catch his plane in Portland, Oregon at 11:25pm and arrive in Orlando tomorrow morning around 11:45am. We did his flight check-in, his resort check-in (staying one night at the Pop Century.....he requested the 50's) and since this was booked under the 2 week mark.....he'll have to collect his own luggage & then check-in at the Disney Magical Express to transport him to the Pop!!

Now trying to fit 7 mths of living into 2 suitcases (which includes bedding & towels).....yikes!! :scared1: Thank goodness for space bags!! :upsidedow

We're having a BBQ for him with ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob & smore parfaits. His picks!! My oldest son & fiance will be coming down to join us & then since they live in Portland.....they will take him to the airport for us. (we live over 2 hrs away).

So I'm sad to see him go, I will miss him, I will miss the help but most of all I will miss our conversations. I'm also extremely proud of him and very excited that he's getting this kind of opportunity. :cheer2:

Then tonight when I go to bed, I will be setting my alarm clock for 2:45am.......will be up, computer & all my lists at the table & ready to make all our ADR's at 3am (our time). Woo Hoo....can't believe we're 180 days away from seeing WDW for the first time!!!!! :dance3:

A mixed emotion day for sure! Best of luck to Derek - hopefully we will be able to say "Hi" in August!

Can't wait to see how you make out with your ADRs. I have read that a lot ot the restaurants in EPCOT are not open yet for ADRs because of the CP. I know that would frustrate me, but there's really nothing you can do but wait if that is the case.

I can see blocking off the times they use for the CP dining packages.....but do they have to block off the whole time?? The day we're not doing the CP, I've picked times that were before & after the 3 meal times. I guess I'll see what happens.

:hug:Thank you......seeing Derek go is bittersweet.....but it's time for him to go out and discover the world for himself........I'm a tad jealous of what he's getting to do.....but the biggest thing will be not seeing him around anymore. He'll be soooooooo far away....not like he can drive home when he's having a bad day. :sad1: He'll do fine......me on the other hand??? :upsidedow

I'll be sure to post how I did with the ADR's!! :woohoo:
