Is it December Yet?? Cancelled with a Heavy Heart!

That's funny because for us after seeing the DL version, we have no interest in the DHS version this trip. I agree that the seating is better but I found the DL experience so much more enjoyable ... especially with Murphy. I always love the people can see the same thing but experience it in a very different way!

Yeah Murphy was definitely a plus in the DL version. The Mark Twain boat in DL is better too. But I don't know, maybe it was just because we had better seats, but we were more wowed in the WDW performance.

These plans sound good so far! Having just been there, I can picture the layouts of what you want to do, and most make sense, so I think you will probably have time, depending on crowds. One thing I did notice you did not include in your HS is Fantasmic. Are you planning on seeing it? We were not originally, but we ended up in the right area at the right time and decided to do it, and we so glad we did! We actually enjoyed it more than the DL one for the most part. Seating is better, and it's just an overall great presentation of the show. Definitely worth thinking about at least!

Be prepared not to be able to eat as much as you have planned! It is a lot more food that it sounds. We are not used to eating desserts, so we were always eating way more than we normally do. It's a good thing we were doing lots of walking!

We've watched the Fantasmic show on a well done youtube video & to be honest with you.....we're not that interested in seeing it. The seating looks much better than DL's but we prefer the DL show of it....that's why it didn't make the list.

We figured, we'd have lots of food in doggy bags or left at the table. Desserts if they can be boxed will probably be a snack later or back at the motel.

I am going to offer my two cents as I read so I don't forget anything. I definitely think you can do all of what you have planned in two days. Many of the lessor attractions hardly ever have a line.

I would move the Circle of Life up a bit on your list. It is a very powerful movie. And we find it entertaining.

Love that you are going to try Coral Reef! I have been trying to figure out how to work it in to our August plans and just can't. But we have been several times and have enjoyed the experience.

See, I rated the Circle of Life higher....but the kids were like.....another film?? But we'll see.....besides what mom & dad says....goes....lol!!

I would have added other restaurants that do seafood, but Tyler HATES seafood....but this restaurant seemed to offer up choices he'll enjoy that don't have anything to do with the sea......lol I'm excited to eat here!!!

There was a couple parts I liked on the WDW version.....but overall, we don't want to use our time here.

I think your AK plans sound great although we have never eaten at Restaurantosaurus. Definitely see the parade, it is my very favorite in WDW! I offer a bit of caution on It's Tough to be a Bug. It can be very intense and scary in parts. Maybe have the older boys check it out to see how they think the little kiddos will react? I admit that it scares me a bit every time! ;)

As for the MK, please take a ride on the Peoplemover! It is very relaxing and a cool way to see Tomorrowland. My two cents are to skip Stitch. Have heard it is a bit scary and generally it gets bad reviews. We have never done and really don't intend to.

The parade is high on our list!! I don't care if I see the bug movie or not & besides, we can always catch that at DCA.....so I kinda doubt we'll be going this trip.

I'm riding the Peoplemover for sure!!! Stitch may be one we send Addy & Anthony in with me, dad or Ty. I don't think I'd take the twins in for that.

I think you will be Ok at DHS. It is a one full day Park for us and we do Star Tours and TSMM. The parade is a HUGE disappointment after seeing the one in Cali Adv so I would say to not bother with that at all. Muppets 3D is one of our cheesy favorites so I would move that up on your list!

If you don't go thru the Animation "show", definitely go into the building thru the gift shop. There are usually some different characters in there.

Love your food choices although as I said before, the food at CRT was mediocre at best for us. But you can't beat the experience of eating in the Castle!

I'm not even sure what the parade is here?? We love the Muppets 3-D movie, but again.....something we can see at DCA. I'll make a note of hitting the gift shop at the Animation show. Kinda hoping we get to this....but with the twins.....its sometimes hard to know what's gonna work & what's not.

We weren't going to do the CRT because of reviews of the food and it being over priced.....but upping to the Deluxe plan, I figured why not. I'd love to be able to see the inside of the castle........really hoping for a window table!!

Love your Day Six! I am not a fan of WCC but if I were going to eat there again it would be for lunch. And seeing the resorts in their Christmas finest is a great experience!

I also love the Cape May breakfast. It feels more laid back to us than some of the others. I miss that Chip and Dale aren't there any more though. Wish they would bring them back!

You didn't like WCC?? The BBQ reminded me of the one at DL and the servers are supposed to make this a fun meal.......what was your experience??

I think day 8 is my favorite day of all! We love both Biergarten & Garden Grill!

I really like your plans, Laurie. I don't think it is too much but I am looking at it from our family and not yours so there may be a few more challenges for you. Definitely remember the distance it takes to get from place to place but it is easy to drive around, things are very well marked.

It truly sounds like a dream trip! Actually as I type this I just realized that I may have missed the 2nd "2 credit meal" you had mentioned? I will have to go back and look. I know CRT but missed the other one.

Anyway, great mix of character meals. You should see just about everybody without dealing with the lines in the Parks. Watch for Mulan (sometimes with Mushu!) in China, Big Al around America, Marie and Beast in France! Buzz will be in Tomorrowland but you have probably seen him in DL.

oooooh, I am so excited for you! And I really think you will be fine with your ADRs!

As you can see, we don't really plan at being at the gates prior to opening on most days. We wanted to experience as much as we could & so we'll try to set early breakfast times, but won't be rushing to get to the parks.

Part of the reason for so many TS is because of the twins. Trying to balance trays of food & finding a spot to sit would be complicated with two strollers and a family our size. TS will guarantee us a place to sit & relax for a short time. This will be good for the twins to unwind a bit.

I see a lot of "baby swaps" in our future!! The nice thing about have 3 adults, is we're able to take turns but the bad part is......not doing the rides together as a family. We'll try the girls on as much as we think they can handle......but how they're reacting and doing at that time will dictate our plans.

The 2nd 2 credit meal is the Coral Reef Lunch as part of the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Originally we had it as the Biergarten, but looking at prices......it made more sense to use it at the Coral Reef. (wanna get our monies worth out of it).

We figure we'll be able to miss most of the character meet-n-greet areas (AK, Town Sq. Theater, Epcot) but get the occasional character as we're out and about. The character meals are a super way of getting our character time & pics.....we have to eat too.....so it's taking care of two things at once (and we consider these meals as part of the park experience too).

We're really excited about this trip & hopefully everything will come together as planned!!!

I would have added other restaurants that do seafood, but Tyler HATES seafood....but this restaurant seemed to offer up choices he'll enjoy that don't have anything to do with the sea......lol I'm excited to eat here!!!

It's funny, Andrew would never even try fish until our Mom & Son trip in
2008. We ate at CR for lunch for the aquarium. When we got there he wanted to try the tilapia and he loved it! I am not a big fish/seafood person either but together we have learned that we like scallops and clams. And yes, there is stuff there for a non-fish eater.

Its a very bad Pixar Play Parade. Same music but so inferior to the one in DCA. I didn't actually mean the gift shop in Animation ... you can go thru the gift shop to get into the building without seeing the show. There are often characters including Sorcerer Mickey in there. It is a bit like the "Off the Page" building in DCA only as far as the character Meet & Greets.

We weren't going to do the CRT because of reviews of the food and it being over priced.....but upping to the Deluxe plan, I figured why not. I'd love to be able to see the inside of the castle........really hoping for a window table!!

We have done all meals and they were all just 'meh. But yes, the Castle makes it worth it for sure! We been lucky enough to have a window table for 2 of our 3 meals and it was really nice!

You didn't like WCC?? The BBQ reminded me of the one at DL and the servers are supposed to make this a fun meal.......what was your experience??

We ate there all 3 meals when we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. I didn't mind the antics but we just hated the food. The ribs in the skillet were fatty and nasty. It just wasn't for us. I know many on the Dis rave about it. It is definitely a "see for yourself" kind of meal. Breakfast was very quiet, no real fooling around. The food for lunch was a bit better for us than dinner. It (along with San Angel) is on our never again list.

We don't even have little ones and we prefer TS. I really don't like many of the QS places enough to deal with the lines and fighting for a table (Columbia Harbor House in the MK being an exception). We do snack around the countries on day but that is more eating on the go, not seeking out a table with a tray of food. Plus we go in August so the nice A/C room is a blessing!

The 2nd 2 credit meal is the Coral Reef Lunch as part of the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Originally we had it as the Biergarten, but looking at prices......it made more sense to use it at the Coral Reef. (wanna get our monies worth out of it).

Are all the Candlelight Processional meals 2 credits? Because CR is usually only 1 credit. But we did not do a CP package when we went at Christmas time.

You should do the Mickey meet & greet in the MK if you can. It is magician Mickey and the rooms are pretty cool. There are fastpass machines for it but when we went last year there was only a 5 minute wait. We will only see the characters we haven't really seen in the past this trip. I really do want to see Marie. Sometimes there is a "surprise" character meet near American Adventure. That was cool last year. No real line and some varied characters (Big Al, Mr. Smee plus Mickey, Tigger and I think Brer Fox). We were just walking by as they all came out.
We're really excited about this trip & hopefully everything will come together as planned!!!

I think you have a truly amazing trip planned. I am so excited for you! And I really can't wait to see you pictures when you get back! I can't imagine how many you will end up with! :upsidedow

All the Candlelight Processional packages are 2 credit....so better to go with the more expensive meal for that one & Coral Reef was one of the restaurants associated with the package.

Well bummer.... I was hoping the WCC would be equivalent to the Big Thunder BBQ at DL. Maybe I'll just order off menu vs doing the BBQ?? :confused3

The pictures......I can't even imagine the nightmare of going through 3 (possibly 4) cameras pictures to put them all in order.....YIKES!!! In 2010, we had over 7000 pictures......and that was 6 days at DL, 1 Hollywood day & 4 travel days. The amount of pictures now that Mike has his new camera will be CRAZY!!!! I'm guessing we'll be at least doubling that amount and probably closer to tripling since this may be the ONLY time we make it to WDW. Just it being our first trip and then adding in the holidays too......wowsers!!!!

Like I said, many rave about WCC and the skillet. So please don't change your mind based on our experience!

7000 pictures! Oh my gosh! I can't imagine going thru that many! I am usually right about 1200 - 1500 and that is a lot to deal with! Again I say that I cannot wait to see yours! It will be a few months after our trip so I will have some serious Disney blues! Something to look forward to!

Now you are making me rethink skipping it this year! We haven't seen it since we saw the DL version. Hmmmm.....

lol......funny how looking at others plans or recent reviews makes you question your plans!!! I just don't see where we would have the time unless the "Pick a Park" day ends up there....then we could consider it.

I read through all your plans earlier and it all sounds great

I would put TSMM on your to do list though. IT is so awesome!! Just have to get FP first thing in the morning

If you don't and they are all gone, then go back later at night and just do the stand by line. The que line is awesome :thumbsup2

Thanx Kelly!! I really don't care if I do TSMM or not. It's ok but I won't stand in a long line or use up a FP to do it. I can't imagine it's much different than the one at DCA. I can take it or leave it. (same goes for the Buzz Lightyear ride).....just not into game attractions I guess.

oh my bad. I didn't realize there was on at DCA....Carry on :rotfl2:

It's the same as the one in DCA. Except the one in DCA doesn't have all the cool stuff in the queuing area, or the fastpass option. I find it enjoyable, but it is more Dillon's thing than mine. It's fun, but 50 minutes in line for it like we did was a long time! Haha.

It's better than the Buzz Lightyear one but I refuse to stand in line longer than 20 mins for it (and the line rarely is that small). If we could just play with the stuff in the queuing area that would be cool........lol

 50 minutes??? YIKES!! I don't think I've ever stood in ANY attraction line that long.........

That was the only one we stood in line that long for. Dillon really wanted to do it, and we had missed the Fastpasses for it. We used the FP's the first time riding it, but Dillon wanted to do it one more time. The longest other than that I think was about 25 minutes. Most were 10-15 minutes, or we used a Fastpass.

The one at DCA needs the FP option.......that line is always around 60-90 minutes......no thanx!!

Hi Laurie -

Congratulations on your trip to Disney World! I am super excited for you and am looking forward to hearing more about your plans and how your trip goes.

Kris

lol......funny how looking at others plans or recent reviews makes you question your plans!!! I just don't see where we would have the time unless the "Pick a Park" day ends up there....then we could consider it.

Yes ma'am ... I changed a bunch of our plans yesterday after discussing yours! Jay and I are now going to CRT for breakfast ... I was able to get an 8:05 when the Park opens at 9 and we are all having lunch at Sci Fi! We haven't been in the past couple of trips and Andrew wants to go back!

So maybe I need to stop reading your plans!

And I forgot that DCA doesn't have the cool TSMM queue. It really is worth seeing if the wait isn't too awful long. I can't imagine how many pictures you would take in there! And it is the one ride that we will wait 45 minutes or so. We do like the ride and the line is really fun. I thought Buzz was better in DL but that line isn't also very long in MK.

:wave2: Hi Kris & thank you!!!! Glad you found me over here!!

:rotfl: lol Jay is probably thinking......that darned DIS!!! :headache: :rotfl2:

If we run out of things to do, I'm sure the kids & Ty would love to do TSMM, but I'll pass. (and definitely pass on Buzz) :rolleyes1

Your plans sound great! I totally understand all the TS meals...we are the same way. Last time we were at HS we walked around ABC Commisary (huge place with tons of seating) for probably 15-20 min trying to find a place to sit. It was Aug and super hot, so we did not want to end up outside. Eventually we found a spot at a tiny table for the 4 of us. Didnt really want to deal with that as a family of 6 this time around.

I wouldnt worry too much about getting the ADRs. I was amazed to be able to get Ohana dinner for arrival night for our Oct trip, Chef Mickey bkfst and Ohana bkfst.

Oh...and we love Cape May bkfst! It was the best character meal we had on our last trip.

TS just made more sense for us, even if we only make a dent in our meals....just having a place to sit as a family makes it worth the extra money going with the deluxe plan.

I'm hoping the ADR thing goes smoothly. I also hope the info on the guest readers for the Candlelight Processional comes out prior to my June 10th date. My 2 Epcot days can be totally switched....it just is hinging on the celebrity. Would hate to set my ADR's and find out the celebrity on the night we're doing the proc. is someone we don't like at all.....but the other night we could go is someone we'd love to see.

I think the ADR's will go ok since I have 2-3 options on each meal. We might just end up running all over the place to do them......lol Oh well.....we wanted to see as much as we possibly could!!

I added the Cape May one in because I keep hearing great things about it......otherwise, we would have missed this one.
