This would be my concern. I think the road trip sounds awesome if you weren't then going to be running around Disney for a week! Jay and I used to drive down from New York ... much shorter but still tiring. We would spend the first night at a cheap hotel just to rest up and then check into Disney the next day.

If you do it, flying home is the way to go. The drive home after the Disney trip would be killer! We took the train home from Florida one year and that seemed eternal. Last year when Andrew and I took the train down though it was really fun. The anticipation.

I think a road trip to just be that.....a Road Trip would be fine.....but to make it part of the WDW vacation I think would just be too much & I think the twins would shut down within the first few days. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of flying!!

That is a LONG road trip. Just remember, you could hit some weather snags in the Rocky Mountains. Plus, just doing the 2 day DL trips you would give us crap for the stinky boy smell. Now you want to triple that trip with stinky boys. I would be guessing you would be like this: by the end of the drive.

YIKES!! I used to tell my boys to take it outside, I didn't want any blood on the carpet!! I know, this really isn't a funny situation......just believe me, this will pass & they'll go out on their owns......but they'll always be drawn back to each other. It's just weird how that works......hard to see it now, but they have each other's back when push comes to shove!!

He says I am holding them back and "crippling" them because of it. Kacy is mad at me because I changed NEXT years vacation from a cabin to Disneyland. Shame on me! Kody is okay right now, I am sure that is subject to change like the direction of the wind.

You're nicer than me......If my kid lost their financial aid for college, they'd be taking a break from school to work & save up to go again. I know you're tight on money like we are....not sure how you were able to cover that. You either excel at college or you go to work.......it's time!!

Well, she has a job interview so that is a start. I took the money out of my vacation money. Chances are with a job and school she won't be going so that is money I would have used on her. I want her to finish college and have a career. I quit college and I regret it everyday.

Laurie, the idea of a road trip sounds like so much fun...on it's own. We've done the long drive from here to Cali twice, once with a two month old, and it was tiring! Could not imagine doing it with all your littles! And going to WDW on top of it. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun places to see though.

That's good....sometimes kids just aren't ready to start school....a few years working & pying for themselves, ages & matures them & then they're ready to put the effort into it.

Yup, I think a road trip vacation would be fun but not in combination with a huge WDW trip!
