Is it convenient between parks

We will be using our Disney passes left over from a vacation a couple of years ago (2 days)... is there convenient transportation between disney and US without taking a taxi...and if not is the taxi expensive?

At the hotel I stayed at, which was about 15 minutes from Universal, I had to take cabs. At that hotel, a cab ride to Universal was $15.00. The cab ride to Disney however was $45.00.
That was a little upsetting.
