Is it bad to smell like a waffle house??

Very interesting...but the PP said that maple syrup makes the person smell LIKE urine. would that be from the same substance?

And now I got to go check my Trader Joes maple syrup!!!!

Let me clarify since everyone seems to think that I believe if you eat maple syrup you will smell like pee.
I do not think maple syrup itself smells like pee. In fact I love it on my food. However, if you get it on your skin etc. (like if you are a messy eater) and you do not clean it off well, the smell that lingers smells like urine. Not urine that you just made, but rather urine that has soaked your clothes. It does not smell like nice hot waffles or pancakes. It smells like a wet diaper that has been sitting for too long. I am not the only person that I know who says this. So I am not some pee stinking maple hater! I hope this clears things up!

My first thought was smoke as well, but I'm relieved OP can rule that out.

I've always thought wet diapers, mainly the first diaper change in the morning when it's probably sat a while, smell like maple syrup.

OP, had you just washed your hands in a public bathroom? Maybe the soap you used smelled like the soap they use at the Waffle House.

I've got a similar story for you though. I mad onion soup for dinner and then went shopping with my husband. I said to him as we got in my car, we smell like onions. He laughed at me!! When we got to the store the lady at the courtesy booth says... " Hmmm. I'm hungry and I smell soup"

I looked at my hubby and we burst out laughing. I mean ....who says I smell soup???

HA! Have you ever seen the Mike Myer's movie "So I Married An Axe Murderer"? It is hysterical! His character is a commitment-phobe and he broke up with one of his girlfriends because he said she smelled like soup ("just like beef barley soup").

I went to Michael's craft store this morning.

There was a college aged girl with her boyfriend in the same aisle as me.
She was looking at stickers.

This girl said she was leaving the aisle because I smelled like a waffle house.
She said she can't stand the smell of that sh**.

Her boyfriend just shrugged at me. I told her "bye".

I'm assuming it's an insult to smell like a waffle house. Our waffle house smells pretty good. Hmm.

So, do your waffle houses smell bad? I smell like a waffle house.

I don't even know what that means! But I'm the type that would specifically follow her from aisle to aisle just to drive her insane.

I agree about the maple syrup/pee connection. DS and I had waffles for breakfast last week, and we didn't get the dishes loaded until the evening. First thing I thought when we walked back in the house after work/school was oooohh it smells like pee in here. It was the old maple syrup sitting on our breakfast plates.

I'm not saying that's what that rude girl meant though, because I think she would have said it smelled like pee if she thought that. She certainly was rude enough to say whatever!

Ok and I always thought that sausage cooking smells like pee. I eat it anyway (after its been cooked really good) but I don't like maple syrup though so I haven't experienced the pee smell from that.

OP that was very rude of that girl to say that. These days kids are so rude and think they are so cool. At least the boyfriend seemed to not be so rude.
