Is it a man thing?

My SO took my truck to get new tires. Yesterday when I got to work, my boss asked me about my new tires. Personally, I didn't notice them. And they're on MY truck. Do men normally go around looking at tires all the time? I know my SO looks at wheels all the time.

That is so funny! My DH does that all the time. When we first dated he would say, Great Car, too bad the tires are all wrong. Huh!

Sharbear, if I ever say tires when I mean wheels, my SO goes off the deep end. I told him to me, they are one and the same. And he does the same thing about the wheels as your DH. To me if the tires can fit on the wheels, that's all I need to know.

I'm the tire checker in our house. Just told dh this morning that I need a new tire. I also keep track of oil changes. Come to think of it I keep track of everything!!! If I waited on him we all would be in big trouble!

When I bought my new car last summer, one of my co-workers (who recommended the make of car to me) asked if I had the big tires. I said "I don't know" and he was almost faint with incredulity that I didn't know what kind of tires I got.

I told him I got the usual -- four of them, black rubber, hubcaps -- and he was not amused!

YES!!!! My DH got new tires on his truck a while ago, and the guy down the street stopped him so he could get a closer look at the new tires. DH didn't TELL him he got new tires, the guy NOTICED on his own. It's definitely a guy thing.

It's a guy thing! I just got busted for my brakes on my car - we had to replace the pads and the rotors!

What do you mean, you didn't get the 17" tires with the alloy wheels. Don't you know what that does to the performance of the car. HAAAAAAAH!!! What were you thinking!!!!!

It's a guy thing. Stephen is into bith tires and wheels. He's on a hunt for both for my Beetle. I just want to replace the two worn ront tires, and he thinks I need wheels too, and different tire than it came with. He hates to spend $50 for a new pair of jeans, but has no problem sinking hundreds of dollars into wheels and tires. Go figure.

Yes. I am a man but I personally don't look at tires that much, or wheels either unless there is something a bit more outstanding. My best friend however is constantly commenting about other's tires, wheel, and wheel covers!

I don't know if it's a man thing, but there's just something about new tires that, well... makes me feel good all over. I guess maybe it is a man thing.

Hate to say it....it is the BEST thing I like on our Ram Quad...the tires (wheels) are the BEST!!! Anytime people comment on the truck.....I say "check out the wheels!!!"

With my dh it's the wheels too - I try not to think of the money he's spent upgrading perfectly good wheels. It's not so bad when I drive the truck (which I don't do often) but gets really embarrassing in the minivan! Heck I don't even notice what color cars are - it really shocked me how many guys comment on my wheels.
