We are going May 7th and I just dont want to overpack.
Do we really need to take a few pairs of Jeans and jackets??
I read it is high 80's in May. But I'm not sure about the nights.
Has anyone recently come back with a weather update?

any help would be appreciated. I am planning away and want
to be prepared/ 2 kids but not bring unnecessary clothing!

thanks!

Chicago weather always has me wondering....:)

It's been in the 60s overnight. You may want a light jacket for the evenings. During the day it's hot and sunny. It's actually been cooler than normal and we've been enjoying the last of the cool breezes until October rolls around.

I went in December and at night it was about 65º. That was at a park closing around 9:00. We also went to the MVMCP which ended at 1:00 and was still about 60º.

We went this past May and it was not cool at night at all. We never needed a jacket or jeans but then again it was pretty hot during the day and others said it was a bit warmer than usual for that time of year.

Definitely not.
We went last may and it was hot hot hot.
If you are worried take LIGHT pants and 1 pair. You can always use the laundy if you need to....you won't.
each person should take a zip up jacket or sweatshirt and that will be enough. We always plan on buying a sweatshirt and it's one less thing to pack.
Pack light and you can always throw a load in the laundry while the kids are napping/swimming or playing in the arcade.

im also intrested in these replys....... 4 kids jackets or jumpers = lots of xtra packing!

I went last May, I brought jeans and sweatshirts, but never used them once. It was pretty warm at night.

I can't speak to the jeans, but I have always found it helpful to pack a hoodie or sweater for each of us...even in August. Sometimes the AC in the restaurants is freezing.

I'd rather be safe than have to shell out big bucks for sweatshirts that you may not even love, but need. KWIM?

We go next weekand I plan on taking 1 pair of jeans for each DD just in case and I will carry a light sweater for them anyway as AC can be chilly in restaurants in the evening.
I had heard it has been cooler than usual of late but now it is getting back to average.

We go every May, and like the others have said, it's not cold. We drive down from Michigan, so we usually start out wearing long pants and jackets or hooded sweatshirts. Other than those, I don't bring any extra, and we usually don't put those on either.

I just got home last night from a six day trip. The weather was good The days were in the 70's and the nights in the lower 50's. it was windy some days though wich made it feel cooler. I was glad we packed some warm clothes. Dont over pack, a sweatshirt or light jacket worked just fine. Have fun.:)

I'd pack a light jacket. May is unpredictable in the south. I've been in May and been hot. Last year I was there May 16-19. It was 75 when I got there (drizzling), but around 82 during the day the rest of the trip. The nights were very cool, low 60s. If you are from the north, that shouldn't be a problem. If you are from the steamy south, it's a little chilly (especially zipping around on Ft Wilderness golf carts. No, the golf cart race was not sponsored, nor encouraged, by Disney ;) ). This year I'll be there May 2-5, and I'm taking a light jacket, just in case.

Gees you guys! We had a high of almost 50 yesterday  in northeast Ohio, and we had all the windows in the house open. So, I guess cold is really a subjective thing. :rolleyes1

I concur with this poster. I'm taking a light jacket, but I live in Mississippi, so mid-60's at night is cool to me. My sis is not taking one for her or kids because they are from WV and comparatively, it is like summer in Orlando! But she is taking zip off (convertible) pants for the boy and one pair of long pants for the girl. I doubt we'll need them though, those kids will probably be swimming all night anyway:beach: :rotfl:

I'm from Mississippi also! :cheer2:

I was wondering this too. What about early morning? Am I going to freeze if we hit the water parks first thing in the a.m.?

It's not cold in FL in May. You will probably not need a jacket/sweater/jeans. Having said that, if you tend to get cold easily, bring 1 pair of jeans or long pants and 1 light jacket or sweatshirt just in case. You will probably never even use it.

As a Floridian, I would be shocked if it was cool enough for a jacket or jeans in May. I would suggest checking weather.com before you leave to make sure there isn't some strange weather. But, as for typical--no you will not need jeans or a jacket.

We were there the 3rd week in May last year and it was hot. No need for extra clothing. Although I did pack it, we didn't need it. The water parks weren't chilly at all in the mornings. HOT HOT HOT

If there is an unheated pool will it be warm enough to use? What about the ocean... will it be warm enough for the kids to play in. :beach:
We are in Illinois so we know COLD  That being said I am having everyone bring one pair of jeans and a hoodie. I know that will take extra space:crowded: , but I want to be prepared.
