Is ipod touch mobile internet or faster

I am sure the title makes no sense, but my dd is trying to decide if she wants a touch or netbook for Christmas. The thing she wants to know about the touch -is the internet connection speed. I have a phone with mobile internet connection that is very slow. She wants to know would an ipod touch be that slow of a connection? Maybe someone could help on this question.

I can not answer to the touch, have not purchased it yet, but I do have an iphone and the connection is fast.

Can not tell a difference in it and my computer.

iPod touch is wireless net not mobil net. It works off of wifi or your home router. No close wifi no net. The speed is the same as whatever wifi you are connected to

Yep, the Ipod Touch and the Netbook would have the same connection speed, whatever your wifi speed is.

She might be confused about what those 2 devices can do. The iPhone gives internet wherever you are thru the wireless network, or wifi if you are in a range. The iTouch only connects thru wifi.

Thanks for the help! We visited the apple store today and just one look is all it took. Definitely going with the touch.
