Is Icestation Cool Still at Epcot?

just last night DH overheard me talking to DS about Ice Station Cool - told DS "we have to make sure we tell Janice to drink the Beverly!"
DH asked where Janice lives, then asked where Beverly lives. We answered "Ice Station Cool" DH still didnt get it "will you please tell me where Beverly lives" Finally we said "EpCot, Coke" ohhhhhhhh ok now I get it

I love Ice Station Cool :cold: it's a great way to refresh yourself at WDW (for free!). I like the watermelon pop, the Vega-vitaminvegamind sutf whatever that is, and a couple more. But Beverly.. :crazy2: My DH likes the stuff, I mean really loves it, or has a high tolerance for bad taste! I wonder if there is something in there that makes it so some people like it and some hate it; something in our genes. Stop laughing, I mean it! Some people can roll thier tongue, and some people can't, it's genetic. I remember there being some substance that only some people could taste. Is it just me?

When we were there last Oct/04, we asked about the snow. A CM told us that it had been gone for a while, and they did not think that it would be back. I don't remember if it was that someone got hurt by slipping on the snow, or if the machine was not working. I think it was both, but don't really remember.
My children always mix the drinks at fast foods, and they tried it at ECPOT also. If you all think the Beverly is bad try mixing a bunch of the different ones together.... It was.... different. Not all bad, some were better mixed with 2 or 3 different flavors. But some were even worse.
Lesson learned? NEVER trust a child that says" Taste this mom, I like it, it's great!" HAHAHEHEAHAH! Right, kid!

ya - we tried the Beverly a couple trips ago - wont make that mistake again
doesnt mean we wont recommend it to others though
We do like the watermelon

Ok, so what does the Beverly taste like? Is it sour or bitter or what???
What other 'flavors' do they have?

Ok, so what does the Beverly taste like?

Very hard to describe. It has a spicy smell that is kind of nice, and when it first hits your tongue you get that tangy spice flavor, almost like ginger, but as it reaches the back of your throat - WHOA! Bitter is a good description but not the most accurate. Bitter + Licorice is a little better. Think carbonated-bitter-licorice-cough syrup, and you're getting close.

Didn't I read a thread a couple of weeks ago that said the refrigeration unit that creates the snow was broken? Have they repaired it yet? Anyone there now or recently returned, can you tel us if we can have a snowball fight???

Beverly has a sort of herbal taste to me. Very refreshing. I don't like sweet drinks, they make me gag.

Beverly is sold in Italy, where you can also get Compari, a liquor with a similar flavor (which I also love).

I think a previous poster has the right idea that maybe this is genetic or something - some of us like sweet, some of us prefer more bitter. :confused3

Each to their own - just give me my Beverly!

I think Beverly tastes the juice from flowers and grass. :rotfl:
I had some in Italy a few years ago and it was so gross. I am looking forward to trying it at Ice Station Cool though.

I love the ice-station, FREE drinks whoo hoo! Here's a fun little secret...if you go with someone that has never been there, offer them some of that nasty biter soda, I forget what country makes it, but they'll def. spit it out! Good for some laughs :rotfl2:
