I have seen numerous posts regarding the trouble people have had traveling to and from their resort and the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review.

But we have also heard, almost :earsgirl: unaniMOUSEly, :earsboy: that the show is wonderful.

We are staying at BC in early November and would like to go to the 9:30 show.

IS IT WORTH THE HASSLE??????????

Honestly, for the meal, no. The food is OK, but nothing to write home about. But you do not go for the meal -- well, OK you may go for the strawberry shortcake (YUM!). But the show is hilarious! It's full of schtick, but the CMs pull it off with style and panache.

Is it worth the trouble? Definitely worth it. I've been to Disney about a dozen times and went for the 1st time this past May. Now I am kicking myself for not going before.

GO! Have fun! Eat! Laugh!

We love the HDD! :Pinkbounc

The travel isn't that bad. Just take your bus to DD, then transfer to a FW bus. Vice-versa on the way home! :)

:D We loved the HDD. I never saw my 10 yr old DS laugh so much - or eat so much ribs and
fried chicken. The food is just normal food - nothing special. But then again my DS loves
McDonald's (dried out) hamburgers.
My 7 yr old DD also loved the show.

My DH must have liked the show too. He video taped at least half of it.
I also enjoyed it.

If you hate country jokes and slap-stick then I would say it is not for you.
But if you like a good laugh and are not very picky about the food you are served
it is worth the money. The 9:30 PM show is less crowded than the earlier shows and
has less kids at it.

If you have a special diet - just request another type of food when you make your
HDD resevations. When you pick up your HDD tickets (7 days or less before the show)
again make sure your food request has been honored.

I was able to get a slice of pizza for my DD. She does not eat alot of meat.

Go for it and enjoy :)

We've been to HDD about 15 times and have enjoyed it every time. Like others have said, the food isn't anything spectacular, but it's usually not bad, either. It's the show that makes it and you'll have a blast.

Getting there is the tricky part. The easiest is if you have a car. If not, like Rhonda said, you will have to go to DD or one of the parks to catch a bus to FW and the same going back to the BC. Your best bet might be walking to Epcot and spending some time there and then take the bus to FW from there and then go back via DD.

I keep asking wife to go again. We always enjoy it and if there ar travel hitches the show and the food imakes it all worthwhile.

Ill admit travel going home from there stunk! Last month it took us 1 1/2 hours to get from Pioneer Hall to ASMO. At night with young kids, that can be a painful trip. Was it worth it? YES!!!
We love the food there. The fried chicken is the best Ive ever had. The ribs are very tasty, although a little tough. Salad, bread, and corn were all yummy too. Of course the all you can drink beer, soda and sangria help too(hint...use the restrooms before embarking on the journey home. DH was quite uncomfortable as those pitchers of beer came back to haunt him ;) ). As for the show itself, I cant remember when I laughed so hard. I had tears rolling down my face for about 10 minutes straight during one part. DS was upset because he doesnt like Strawberry shortcake and was pushing for an icecream back at the food court when we went home. He was trying so hard to be in a bad mood but he couldnt control his laughter. Those performers are so great! We had the best time here! At first I was worried about taking up park time(with such short hours) to do this, but afterwards I said it was so worth it.
Although, I think its worth the travel hassle, I would probably spring for a cab next time. :)

Thinking back, CamColt is right about using the restrooms before getting on the bus afterwards. However, the bus ride home is usually pretty crowded, lively, and almost as much fun as the show, especially if you have a new inductee into the Pioneer Hall Players on board.

We LOVE Hoop-Dee-Doo! Only done it while staying at the GF, and we've always taken the boat to the MK, then the both to FW (and, reversed the route going back). :) We've always done the 7:15 show, too.

We have never had a problem with the transportation to or from the Hoop Dee Doo. We always take the hotel bus to the Magic Kingdom & take the boat to Fort Wilderness from there. When leaving the show - if the Magic Kingdom is still open, we take the boat back to the MK & then get on the hotel bus. If the Magic Kingdom is not open - there have been busses waiting outside of Pioneer Hall to take us to our resort. We love the whole experience of the Hoop Dee Doo. The honey butter for the bread is 'yummy'!!!! We have had members of our family picked to participate in the show - lots of fun!! Definately worth going!!!!

Yes, it's definately worth it! DH and I did HDD last December while staying at the Dolphin.

The show is really cute! A bit corny at times, but cute. :) The food was better than I was expecting. The fried chicken was the best I've every had. I love strawberry shortcake and DH doesn't so I ate a good bit of that! LOL!

We actually went to MK in the afternoon and then took the boat to Fort Wilderness. We did the 5pm show. So that was no problem. We took a bus back to the Dolphin after the show because MK was closed. Now, I'll admit, the bus service after the show has problems...definately not as organized as you would think it would be since HDD has been at WDW for a long time, but it wasn't bad enough for me to tell you not to go! There's not much that I will allow to get me upset at WDW. :p We didn't have any plans for after HDD, so it didn't matter if the bus service wasn't the greatest.

Skuttle, what do you mean "they still had the 5 pm show?" We are scheduled for that show this April, have you heard anything? To the original poster, this will be our 4th time seeing it, it is WELL worth the effort to get there!! We love the food, it doesn't take much to please us, we think its delicious. Get ready to laugh your head off!

Around the time we went, I thought they had stopped doing one of the shows...didn't know they still do all three. :) I'll change my other post.
