Is Hollywood & Vine really that bad??

Yes. Horrible! We have eaten there 3 times when it was the only place with F! packages left.. We prefer Mama Melrose and have never tried Brown Derby.. We have had huge GG groups and everyone always hates H&V that being said.... I am forced to eat there on my next trip (at least it's just breakfast) to see Agent Oso my 4 yr olds latest obsession... :rotfl:

Bless you...what we won't do for our kids. :)

We ate breakfast here in Feb so my sons could see June and leo. We ALL loved it. The food was great, hot, and always fresh. The service was top notch. Very clean.

We are booked to go again in Jan so they can see Oso...hope it's still just as good!

My DH and I ate here a few years ago and it was fine. We returned about a month ago and again, it was fine. The food was always fresh and hot. There was a good selection and the drinks were good!!! I would go again! :)

I think the best thing to do is try it for yourself. Have a great time!

My kids loved it. Last time we were there, they had the Little Einstein characters for breakfast. My wife and I thought it was as good as any other buffet.

Went to H&V August 2010, with son 22, niece 21, sister 53 and partner 31 we all loved the food, our drinks were refilled the moment the glasses were empty and the table cleared of used plates promptly and we were not pressured to leave the table even once we'd finished.
Everyone said they want to return, and on our next trip, Sept 2011, I expect we'll go more than once.

We're booked for Sept 2011 with an 83 year old and a 4 year old. If we have any hope of seeing Fantasmic, we're going to need the dinner package. I've been told not to book any Italian restaurants, so that leaves me with H&V.

Is it really that bad?

Thanks!
Deb

YES!

If you think it is the only way to see Fantasmic you will have to bite the bullet:rotfl: and eat there. The best food on the buffet is on the kids side!

We ate at H&V last week for the Fantasmic dinner package. We had a 3:45 reservation and the food was already getting cold. We didn't get our drinks until we were almost finished our first plate. Dirty dishes weren't cleared from the table either. The food was okay, nothing great. Our kids really only ate the dessert. I was also disappointed when we got the bill because we were charged more than I was told it would cost. Unfortunately I was given the wrong price when I booked it so that wasn't the restaurant's fault.

Next time I'll book Mama Melrose's.

For breakfast they had a make your own breakfast burrito which I haven't seen anyplace else. They had most of the other standards such as Mickey waffles and eggs. The fruit and pastry selection was poor compared to other breakfast buffets. The character choices are less ideal, but if your kids are into them you get to dance and interact with them more than the other buffets.

The single greatest reason to go there for breakfast is you will be 50 feet ahead of the masses at rope drop. You can wait in a much more relaxed environment, and when the time comes you will be in front of the hordes as they walk you into the park. Obviously at some point they will set you free and you will have to endure the stampede, but you will still be walking onto TSM.

Mediocre eggs and a pastry for $25 is worth it to not have a 45 minute wait.

YES!!!!!!! It is really that bad. It was like Bad cafeteria food! It is the one Disney restaurant we will NEVER go to agian!!!!

I went with my children and mother on our last trip, and while my kids loved it, my mother did not enjoy it at all. We were there for lunch, and she just did not enjoy the food at all. That being said, she absolutely enjoyed watching my kids interact with all of the characters, especially since they had SO much fun, so she ended up agreeing to go back. I did not really have a problem with the food, but I am not a very picky eater...I love to try all types of food and eat at nice restaurants, but am just as comfortable eating from a low key buffet.

We ate there and I don't remembering it being bad. Our waitress was really nice and I don't think we left hungry. It was more like homemade food. Pot roast- mashed potatoes etc.

We were there for lunch last week and it wasn't that bad. We had great service and the food was ok. Not the best food I had but not the worse either. The food was warm and plenty of choice for everyone. That being said, we will be going back again next May.

we had lunch there last week and had no issues. Service was great. And yes, OSO was there
