Is Hojo worth $99?

Still looking at hotels for our 2 night december trip. The full AP discount is not available for our dates. With the 20% discount that makes it $99 for a standard double. Is it worth this price? Other hotels I'm considering are the Quality Inn for $75 and Stovalls for around $92 once all charges are figured in.
The other two have a breakfast but we can just bring food from home to save money also.

Thanks again for all your help!

I would say yes, based on staying there Feb/09, Oct/10, and Feb/11. We are not staying there on our trip the end of next month, simply for the reason that I won a 3 night stay at the Hilton Anaheim, so that's where we are going to lay our tired heads. We have always had excellent service with them. The rooms are fairly large, enough room without the family constantly underfoot. They have a really good gift shop in Building 1 that has reasonably priced breakfast items, such as cereal, juice, milk, bagels, danishes, etc. Their water is also alot cheaper than what you can find in the parks. It may be a small gift shop, but it's crammed full of stuff. The pirate play area is great for the kids, and if we've ever had a problem it's been resolved quickly and without fuss. I know that it's been given a bit of a beating lately on these boards, but have never had problems with them, and it's an easy 7 to 10 mins walk to the parks. Hope that this has helped you out with your decision.

The comfy beds alone are worth it! In the last month I've stayed at a hyatt & hilton. Those beds killed us we could hardly sleep.

I don't know how many people are in your party or if you have kids but the Kids' Suite at Hojo isn't too much more than a standard room if you're getting their non-ent rate and using the AP discount. It's a LOT more bang for your $$ if you go that route.

For us yes. We love hojo's. But it is an older hotel. While the rooms (at least the one we stayed in) had been updated you can tell its not a new place. That said the beds are fantastic. Just what our bodies needed after a long day at the parks.

For us, it would be worth it. We like Hojos and stay there often. I have not stayed at either of the other places you are considering. Based on my mother-in-law's comments about her Quality Inn stay, I would pay the $24 difference and stay at Hojos for sure. I have heard ok things about Stovalls though, so maybe someone who has stayed there might be able to offer you more insight about that place.

I have to admit that those werent the replies I was expecting! I think I'm leaning more and more towards Hojo's. Not positive yet. But it definitely sounds like I'd have less to worry about if thats where we decided to stay.
Thanks for your opinions!

Just be sure to ask for a quiet room. We were right next to the freeway and got no sleep at all there!

If you do decide to go with Hojo, you can keep checking their site to see if they add any 'retro rate' nights that correspond with your dates. If that does happen, all you need to do is call them up (in-house reservations) and they will apply the rate to your existing reservation.

If Hojo were $99 I would call the Candy Cane instead. You get a decent continental breakfast which is worth $20-30 for our family of 4. Plus CCI is a nicer property and has a shuttle. Last time I stayed at Hojo I was next to the freeway and it was very loud. Other than that the property is a great deal with the AP discount and I would stay there again if I was paying half price.

Candy Canes lowest rate is $139 for our dates according to their website which is more than I want to pay. Definitely still looking like Hojo's, possibly Stovalls. I'm crossing my fingers that the retro rate opens up for our dates though I doubt that it will.

Hojo's is definitely the better place to stay! We have stayed there many times and always been happy there. Yes, the rooms on the ends can be noisy. I always ask for a middle room which is fine. The room doors open into a hallway instead of outside which always makes me feel more secure.

We stayed at Stovall's once this year when the Hojo was full because there are people on these boards who liked it. It was only okay - I won't stay there again. It was definitely farther to walk than Hojo and the rooms were a LOT older and more run down. And I think you had to pay for parking there and not at Hojo's.

The breakfast was not worth it, just some danishes, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and watery juice. My kids wouldn't eat it anyway. We liked the Portofino better than Stovall's but Hojo's is always our first choice.

Just my opinion! We're going again in October and we're staying at the Hojo!
I hope you have a great trip!
