Is HNY 'couply' rather than 'kiddy'?

OK, in my ever decreasing search to make a decision on where we stay :lmao: I have a friend who has been to DLRP and also her friend works at there. My friend hasn't stayed at HNY but she did go in to get a snack/drink and said she found it very 'couply' and felt a bit 'out of it' with a 2.5 year old.... Her friend who works there also said it tends to be more couples who stay there. Is this true do you think or did she just pick an 'off day' ;)

Sometimes I wish they only had one hotel :rotfl2:

Well it is the most grown up themed. But of course its fine for kids too.

:)

It's disney :)

I know Torsie - that is what I thought (it's Disney!) but then I haven't spoken to her just emailed so I didn't get to elaborate really....

Thanks for your reply though ;) :thumbsup2

There were quite a few kids queuing up at character meet n greet in the mornings. But not as many as most of the other hotels :)

That's what concerned me as well before I booked HNY but I thought 'hey, it's Disney, there'll be kids everywhere' lol. I know we're hardly in the room much but it's nice to have that bit of extra space for the kids to run around. They do run riot (in the room!) while they wait for us grown-ups to get ready.

Fewer kids queueing up is sounds good to me :thumbsup2 lol.

We've never stayed there but walked through quite a few times when we've parked there using our APs. Theres always quite a few children about but maybe not as many as other hotels.
It can come across as quite formal.
For example we went to the bar one evening at Easter and were met at the door and asked how many of us then asked to wait. they cleaned a table and showed us to it. However there were loads of other empty tables - strange really especially compared to the bar at S Lodge where we felt we could flop and relax

Your welcome, re-reading what i wrote it could ahve sounded snooty, i didnt mean it.

Was meant in a light hearted, 'yaaay, it's disney' fashion, as opposed to 'duh! it DISNEY'

Sop apologies if thats how it read.

I stayed there when i was 12 and had a great time and never felt out of place as a kid. :)

I have stayed on all on site hotels with the exception of the Cheyenne and I would say that the HNY is the most grown up hotel. Its original purpose was as a conference centre and when we stayed there we did see quite a few business people in suits etc. Also if you are planning to swim, the pool is not very kid friendly as it is deep. Having said that, the hotel still has a kids corner and the characters come around (with the benefit of smaller queues) and we did see a few little kids when we stayed there.

I wouldn't worry too much about staying there with your little kids especially if you are saving a lot of money over the DLH. You can use the extra money for some more souvenirs and nice meals.

Yes and no. They provide water wings to borrow for kids. The characters have the shortest waits of all the hotels. And the kids are treated well by the cast. It feel more mature, but that's what we love. We can have a mature experience with our kids around.

I like that you are seated and served in the bar and at breakfast, with all the bad behaviour of guests in the parks, it's respite.

Me and my wife are going to the HNY next month and to be honest its because it looks more like a "couply" type of hotel we chose this over the other Disney hotels

Also it states in the official DLRP brochure it is more suited "to couples or friends"
