DH and I travel between Florida and Massachusetts. We always have our dog, Charlie, with us. We would love to visit HH, because we really haven't been there for years. Since some WDW hotels are pet friendly, I was wondering if HH allows pets. Has anyone boarded their pet near HH?

No they don't allow pets and if you are planning to take your dog try giving the front desk a call for the names of local kennels to board (843) 341-4100.

However, the island itself is very pet friendly. Several restaurants allow (a few even encourage) your dog to their outdoor seating, and may even have a menu for your dog.

Thanks for the responses. I think of all the DVC resorts, HH would be the best choice for pet friendly.

As far as where to board your dog, I don't know the name but I know that there's one near the resort that's highly recommended. The resort has its own Facebook page-you might get the name by asking there. Also, just so you know if you go, Gordon in the Mercantile volunteers at an animal rescue facility and is very devoted to his little dog (I think his name is Zagnut).

I remember the resort did recommend a lovely place for our son’s dogs.

So many resorts are becoming pet friendly, including Marriott. With pet allergies in family, it is an issue. Some resorts say that they do a "de: ep cleaning" of the rooms, but I don't trust that. Some resorts keep pets in separate buildings, but when they are intermingled within a building OR if the pet friendly rooms are not segregated, it is an issue.

To the OP, I think that the one recommended by the resort is Evergreen Pet Lodge for boarding. Another one for boarding that gets lots of positive reviews is Southpaw Pet Resort.
