Is Gemma from England still a server on the Magic?

I was shocked and excited to see Gemma's name listed on another thread. Is she still around? We had her 18 months ago and she was great!

If anyone knows this info, who's her assistant? Back then was another female, but her name escapes me right now...

I don't know if Gemma is still on the Magic but we she was our server back in May 2002. Her assistant at that time was Gianna [sp?].

Oh yes, Gemma is certainly STILL on the Magic................ and we know..................... she's our DAUGHTER!
She has been a server on the Magic for 3and half years now, and has had several different assistants. She will leave on the 10th January for her vacation, and will probably return early March - when we hope to take another back-to-back cruise on board. She is always happy to hear from/see past guests - and just recently we have had several e mails from people on the Dis boards who had her as their server.We are happy to pass on e mails to her from past guests.

For those who are about to sail on the Magic, be sure to say "Hi" to her, and she will be happy to help out with any tips regarding places to visit, etc., during the cruise.

Perhaps there are other CM's family viewing the Dis Board?

Wow! Nat!

You truly have a special daughter! Back in May of 2002, we tried to steal her away to be our kids' nanny in southern California!

The only thing I'm sad about is... she's leaving for vacation on the day we go on our cruise I wanted to try to request her as a server but obviously will miss out on that one luxury!

Oh well, guess that means we'll just have to take another cruise! We always book a Cat. 1, and have just booked again for Jan, 2005. Please tell Gemma not to take another vacation during that time, would you?

Shame she wont be there on 10th Jan, but Im sure all the other servers will treat you just as well. Just mention Gemma to your server: they will know her. I think we met most of them during our cruise in February! Most of them are just wonderful. Enjoy your vacation! Nat

Cotomon, I notice you're in So. California as we are too. When in May 2002 did you sail? We were on May 18 Eastern. Wouldn't it be funny if we were on the same cruise?

Hi Gemma's Mom (Natasha) - We recently got off the Magic (11/15 cruise) and had Gemma and Raj as our servers. They were both truly wonderful and Gemma told us about you and that you were also on the boards! She introduced us to her boyfriend one night and we told her we'd send good reports back to you!! You have a truly special daughter and we miss her!! Tell her that Jo-Anne, Dave, Katie and Michael say HI and let her know that I've weaned Michael off hot dogs for dinner every night!

This might be a silly question, but we had a server at the Rose and Crown in 2000 (named Gemma) who was wonderful...she chose our son to start the fireworks at Epcot that night. Could this be the SAME Gemma?

WOW, indeed it could be! Our Gemma worked at the Rose and Crown in EPCOT between 1998 and 1999. What a small world. Do you have any photos? There were a couple of other Gemmas that year in the pub, but none have gone on to the Magic! Cant IMAGINE why Gemma wants to continue working for Disney in the sunshine, when she could be home in England in the cold, wet weather!hehe. HAPPY DAYS

That is so wonderful! I'm SURE it was Gemma at the R&C. She used a different name while working. We had taken lots of photos and e-mailed them to her so she could send them to her mum! I DO have the pictures, but my guess is that you might already have them too. She was a lovely young lady and my son thought she was an angel!

We are cruising in June on the Magic, I guess we missed our opportunity to see her again!

Not sure if our Gemma is the same one, as ours certainly used her correct name at Epcot. However, you will be able to check in June - if you cruise again, as Im pretty sure she will be back on board the Magic from March 2004. Anyway, our Gem will surely be glad to meet you, should your paths cross. Happy cruising. Nat

Gemma was our assistant server in November of 2000. At that time she was working with Ireene. When we cruised in July of 2002, my kids saw her and she remebered them because Ireene got very sick at the end of the trip and she finished out as our server. On our July trip we had Raj and Marvin, only to find out that Raj had the biggest crush on Gemma. Gemma's mom, please tell her that Gracie and Sarah say hello, but will be very dissapointed to find out she won't be on their cruise on January 24th, I know they were going to be looking for her. I will have to have them e-mail her.

Yes, poor Raj - we knew about the crush: but they are still great friends, - and she has been dating one of his best pals for a year now. Gemma was our server this past April...we were a group of 29 and Gemma was our server (can't remember our asst servers name but i know he got sick towards the end of our cruise, actually i think he hurt his shoulder, he was very nice). Gemma was fantastic and took great care of our group. Gemmas mom...you have a wonderful daughter!!

We switched servers mid-cruise in November 2001, and had Gemma and Giorgio. She was the sweetest! We made sure we got Giorgio in October 2002, but was sad to learn that Gemma wasn't there. We are going again on the special New Year's 2004 cruise. Will she be there?

Thanks so much for your comments. I will keep your messages to show her........... Great to hear Gem is treating you all well. We miss her bubbly personality at home - but she will soon be back with us, after another 6month contract.

Not sure if you meant THIS New Year cruise or next year? If it's this year.......... YES she will be there - she leaves the ship on the 10th Jan. As for next year, I really am not sure just yet. Depends on her long-term romance with the lovely Deepak(Server). Im sure some of you will also know him! Most of the girls fall in love with him during their cruise Im told! Nat
