Is Frozen worth it for older teens/adults?

Hi- We are heading to the Mouse for the first time in 6 years - - so my thrill loving kids are now 20 and 17. I watched a youtube video, and it looks a bit like It's a Small World, in the snow. We love Soarin and Test Track and have only 1 day in Epcot (Christmas Day).

While we do like It's a Small World, we probably would rather do TT or Soarin' or Mission Space a 2d time before a cute themed boatride. Since they are all Tier 1, I'm wondering whether to forego it -- since it will be huge crowds, if I don't get a FP+ we will be out of luck (b/c we won't wait in those lines!).

So I know this is a subjective question --- just want to get some quick opinions. If you have older kids or no kids -- is Frozen a "not to be missed" attraction?

Thanks!!

It's a pretty cool ride, but personally I would not choose it over TT or Soarin'. I probably would choose it over Mission Space, though.

I really enjoyed it and rode it 6 times on my trip. Since you are going Christmas Day that may not be possible. We got to 6 with no FP+ and just a mixture of late nights with EMH and an early morning EMH.

It is definitely not Its A Small World. If you ever rode the original Malestrom it is the same ride system (fast paced backwards moving boat into a decent drop) with the best Animatronics I've ever seen.

Thank you for the quick replies!! :thanks: -- maybe we will try to Rope Drop it -- we have done Maelstrom and were not the hugest fans (but it was a nice break on a hot day). So excited. . . .but FP+ is all new to me and I'm a little nervous (making reservations tomorrow a.m.!)

If you like the movie, it's definitely worth it. I actually found it emotional at some points -- amazing animatronics and terrific use of music.

If you aren't a fan of the movie, probably not worth it for you. I enjoyed the movie. I liked Maelstrom, it wasn't an OHH AHH ride for me, but I enjoyed it. I like FEA quite a bit more. The ride experience is exactly the same as Maelstrom was. The visuals (when everything is working properly) are quite a bit nicer on FEA. The first Olaf is quite impressive. I would ride it just to see that scene!

We loved the movie, but the ride was once and done for us (my kids are 12 and 9) in terms of using a fp. We will definitely not use a tiered fp for it again. If the line was short as we walked by, we would ride it. But we would prefer to use our fp for Soarin.

We do have younger kids than you do, but my wife and I still loved it, can't wait to do it again. Then again, we love Small World, so YMMV.

I liked it (I'm 45!). DH and DS9, not so much. I actually thought the queue was beautiful and the ride very well done. That being said, Christmas day will be a doozy! If you decide to do it, I would do Frozen at rope drop, do standby for Soarin' and get a FP+ for TT. Soarin' will most likely have a long standby line, but it will probably be the shortest of the three. If you forego Frozen, RD Soarin' and FP+ TT OR since your kids are older you could do the single rider line for TT. If you do single rider, you could do Soarin' at RD and get a FP+ for Frozen.

DH and I did it in August with a posted 45 minute wait that was actually 23. Glad it wasn't 45; the ride is cute for Frozen fans but I feel that's about it. We aren't Frozen fans but I like to try anything new :) My boys are 14 & 11, again not Frozen fans, so I didn't FP FEA for next month. If we happen by it when the line isn't long we may try it; if I were you I wouldn't FP FEA on Christmas since your crew will most likely prefer Soarin' and TT and unfortunately everything will have lines :santa:

For our party of 8 in June...YES! Everyone, age range 48-5, loved it! We make fast passes tomorrow morning for our holiday trip, and my college freshman son chose FEA as our FP for our first Epcot day! :D

We rode it once and it was just - meh. A few nice scenes connected by long stretches of nothing but darkness. I wouldn't waste a precious FP on this. Test Track or Soarin is a much better use of a tier 1 FP.

Maybe because we liked Maelstrom so much or that Frozen shouldn't be in WS (but it is what it is) is why this is just so-so.

However it was a blast reciting the Maelstrom audio at the top of my lungs on our last ride. :thumbsup2

My wife and I are in DW after Thanksgiving. She likes Frozen, I didn't care for it at all. We had no delay or hesitation on using our tier 1s on Soarin' and TT for our two days in Epcot.

Hope you have a great trip!

My 13 year old liked it (and I loved it.) But the 13 year old prefers Soarin and Test track. I would fastpass Soarin, do single rider line for test track, and rope drop Frozen. Frozen can have many tech difficulties (esp later in the day) and we had to be evacuated off the ride in Sept (after already having to leave line once earlier that same day because it broke down for a long period of time.) Perhaps it has less of a chance of breaking down earlier in the day?
