Is free meal plan offered every year?

We last visited DW in Sept 2008 and had the free meal plan (with hotel and park ticket booking). I was told that the free meal plan is offered for this time period every year in order to encourage people to go there during unstable weather. Is that true? If so when should we expect this offer to appear? We hope to go again this year Sept 2011.

I think it started in 2005 but we started going in 2006 and hit every Sept or Oct. for a week since. I think early April you should here if it is offered, each year since 2008 they have eliminated somethng for the offer but still a better offer then a room discount. We will be going with or with out the offer this year since we have AP's this year so we have to check the room discount compared to the free DDP.

Free dining was already offered for September 2011, but had to be booked by December 20th.

No way to say if Disney will come out with the discount again for that time period.

Last year it was offered end of April to the disney visa card members. I just looked on my statement and the deposit was posted on 4/29 and I booked right after it was announced. Keep on these boards and someone will post when they know. As far as the other poster stating it was offered up to sept. 2011, that was new. They usually only offered it for september through december but disney extended it into sept 2011. Just keep checking because you never know what disney is going to offer. I am hoping they are going to do it again because I want to go in december.

I have friends who are TAs at AAA and they have said that free dining was always typically announced in the spring for late summer/fall dates. In recent years, they have been doing some unprecedented things like extending the free dining dates through October, etc. And this year, they announced free dining very early - this past fall, which is a first. Because of this, no one can predict if it will come out again. I have heard that the free dining promo that had to be booked by 12/20 did very well and because of this there may be no need for Disney to re-open the offer. No way to know for sure though.

Free dining has been offered for the August/September timeframe for the last 8 years.

The fall free dining offer was announced this morning for Disney Visa holders for the dates of August 25 - September 29, 2012. This offer should open for the general public on Monday, March 5.
