Is FoP really all it's cracked up to be?

It was my favorite ride!! You can feel the banshee breathing between your legs, and it is so realistic! Granted I wouldn't wait in a 2-3 hour line, but I would try to adjust my Jiko time. I would also suggest taking an uber vs a bus if that helps.

Can someone tell me if FOP is somewhat like Star Tours or 7DMT in intensity and movement/jerkiness?? (or, any other ride to compare) I can (barely) ride those, and could not handle anything more, but really would like to ride. Thanks!
It is not jerky it is very smooth. It is similar to Soarin in the seating arrangements except for that you are on a bike type seat. The movement is also greater than Soarin but not crazy intense. It is very hard to compare directly to anything Disney currently has.

With regards to the motion sickness thing, I get motion sickness on most rides, but can do Everest nice with my meds. With my meds- I still cannot do star tours. For AVatar- FOP- I was ok riding once with my meds- but I did on the think I would have been ok it I tried to do it two times in a row. It was pretty intense think watching the magic carpet part of PHilharmagic burn for a longer duration and you are moving up and down as well.
As far as it being worth the wait-- I normally would not wait more than 20-30 minutes for any ride- until now. FOP- I would wait two hours for- just once a trip.

Very very smooth, not jerky at all. My wife loathes Star Tours - absolutely refuses to go on in and hasn't set foot on it since 2011 and she LOVED Flight of Passage! SDMT is a hard comparison because it's a roller coaster and although it feels like you're flying on FOP, I didn't notice if the "chair" moved that much! Honestly, there was more movement from me screaming out loud than the ride moving! Also, my mom who is 74 and has to ride in an ECV loved it too. Top notch technology, very next level compared to ST and SDMT

Sorry for the hijack OP!!!

Thanks for all the info guys! While we can't rearrange anything at this point, we will do our best to make our FP! It sounds like it really is worth it.

For me there is nothing better than HM, BTMR, POTC, TOT and a few more. I haven't had the chance to do FOP yet but I can tell you now that without FP, 20 minutes is my max wait time. If that means I miss FOP for the unforeseeable future, so be it. :)

It's like Soarin on steroids. The movement didn't bother me the first time, although I closed my eyes a couple times. That is always an option if it gets too much. The second time I enjoyed every minute of it. I followed the good suggestion on this board to not put your chest right up to the brace thing there (don't know what to call it). The second time the CM pushed me more forward. It was ok, but I would have preferred more room.

I felt the same way but am so thankful I allowed my sister to drag me to Animal Kingdom early to get on FoP. We got to AK around 8:10. Once in Pandora and in line, it moved rather quickly and we never stopped in the queue until the holding area outside the first room.

The ride is amazing and I'm so glad I didn't skip it like I had originally planned!

Just rode it this evening for the first time. It was just fantastic. Best ride I have ever been on! Creative, exhilarating and just a serious rush!

If it's over 45 minutes, I won't do any attraction's standby line, but I would, without a doubt, skip any restaurant in order to do FoP. But eating at a particular restaurant is not important to me at all. FoP is on my top three list and is probably #1.

I rode it 3 times this week and thought it was amazing! My suggestion is to try to modify your FP time on the app by rerheshing the app over and over.

On a side note, on Wednesday I was late to a FP because my kids didn't want to ride it again so my GF and I took turns watching the kids at the dance party while the other rode. When I tapped my band it didn't work and the CM asked why I was late. I told her and she sent me through.

I think it's hard to adequately describe. I'm very inpatient but I thought it was worth the hour wait. I'm not sure I would be willing to wait an hour every time but it was worth it for the first experience. I would be upset if I went to Disney World and didn't get to ride it.

I've ridden it 3 times and wouldn't have an issue waiting 2 hours to ride it again. The regular line has a lot of cool things to see and is definitely something you should do at least once even if you have a fast pass.

If you've never ridden it and there is a three hour wait do it. A long wait is certainly worth doing at least once for this particular ride.

LOVED FOP! I would definitely wait in line again for it! Our line posted for 120 but we only stayed in line for maybe an hour. The line moved very quick!

I would rearrange the ADR for another night or different restaurant at a different time. Not advising going on FOP with a full stomach if you get even a little motion sickness

A couple of suggestions: Tell your waiter at Jiko what your FastPass window is for FoP. He/she won't rush you, but may be able to speed up the service just slightly. Also, some excellent choices of entrees take less time to cook than others, and your waiter could advise. If you can drive to AK, I suggest that you do it; in this particular case, if you would have to rely on the bus service (otherwise great, just hard to know the time interval), I might consider requesting a taxi toward the end of dinner.

I think FoP is well worth doing all of these things. I have only ridden it once, but it was really fantastic. It is a very smooth ride--nothing like Star Tours, in that respect. Smooth as Soarin', but more adventuresome. Breathtaking!

Physically, I would not be able to wait two hours without sitting down! But if they let you do that in the stand-by line, I would wait two hours for it.
