 good for children? I am trying to pick rest for our dinning package and since you have to make a reservation ahead of time.. its hard to decide..

We ate there with the kids (8 and 10) last month. We had a relatively early reservation, so I think that that made a difference in the kid-friendliness. The restaurant had a very good kids menu (my kids love it when steak shows up on the kids menus), crayons, etc., and the server was fantastic with them. Grown-up food also very good. I had the mahi mahi with lobster risotto, and it was great!! I have also been there for a grown-ups only dinner, and enjoyed that as well.

How old are the kids? We are hoping to eat there with our six and seven year old this trip, but have told the six year old we WILL put her in the kids club if she isn't up to behaving. I wouldn't eat there with kids younger.

My kids (both boys) are 8 and 16... I am trying to schedule the dinning and figured that looked good...

Wasn't sure if it was kid friendly because its a signature dinning place..

But momma needs some time that isn't with disney characters.. but with a nice glass of wine and good food... not much to ask I think :goodvibes

Flying Fish is one of the places I'll steer clear of with the little ones in January. It just isn't particularly kid friendly. The 16 year old will be fine, and the 8 year will be "okay" -- but I typically try to make sure I take the kids to someplace where they'll be more than okay. Spoodles may be on our list.

Did it with a 9 yo boy last summer and it was fine. We also had an earlier seating, but DS is used to restaurant dining. If your child is willing/able to sit for a meal there really should be no problem. We did see quite a few younger kids there, some of which weren't able to sit anymore but the restaurant was only ~ half full at the time so it wasn't really an issue. Had it been full I think their behavior would have been more noticeable. It was one of the better kids menus, not that my son appreciates that  .

We took our kids -- ds9 and dd6 -- about a month ago. This was a Friday night in July and I was surprised how uncrowded Flying Fish was -- I was worried they might disturb lots of couples or something -- and I was surprised how many people brought their kids. We were the rule, not the exception. I found FF to be very kid-friendly. Our CM was great with them and supplied them with lots to do. DS is a fish lover and he really enjoyed the kids' fish. DD is not a fish lover (although she'll eat a few bites) and was very happy with her Mickey pasta. DH and I had the potato crusted snapper (signature dish) and it was delicious. The pace of the meal was just right -- they were not bringing out entrees before we finished appetizers -- but it was not slow either. The kids did not have time to get bored.

I highly recommend FF. My only caveat about going with kids is be prepared -- you have to walk through a candy store to get to the restroom!!
