Is everyone reserving park days for 2022 trips already?

IMO they are here to stay. 2022 and beyond. Unless attendance falls off a cliff.

Why would Disney give up that kind of control when it doesn't seem to be turning people off enough to not spend their money there?

I don't think we will know of the impacts on attendance until after the pandemic is over. The crowds they are getting now will attend no matter what. But, families like mine, that would normally spend 8-10 days on property once every 2-3 years will be less likely to go back. Yes, mine is just one family. But, we can't be the only ones.

We are staying offsite, so that is correct we are buying tickets only. I take it you booked your 2020 vacay with the offer for Canadians before the pandemic? I feel like it disappeared shortly after the shut down last year.
Yes, we were there right before the pandemic hit. Technically right when there were a handful of cases creeping into North America, at the end of February. I think they shut down about the third week of March or so? I feel so lucky to have got that trip in.

trip booked for April 2022 and have not made park reservations yet. Not really sure how many days we will want/need. Trip was originally booked for April 2020 and had made FP+ for: DHS 2.5 days, AK 1 day, EP 1..5 days 2 days MK.
2022? who knows. :-)

I’m not a huge fan of having to commit to tickets so far out. I know this is what Disney wants—for me to part with my money as soon as possible, but there are still too many unknowns regarding my February 2022 trip for me to buy Tickets and commit yet v

Add my family to yours. We usually go every 2 years and stay anywhere from 8-12 nights. We were due to go in 2020, and I just cannot pull the trigger to return right now. My heart hurts for my youngest who is finally at a good disney age, but I just don’t feel the bang is worth our bucks right now. Especially with things like park reservations.

We did. We may play around with park dates but we have 8 day tickets with 2 days in each park. I'm not sold on park hoppers just yet.

We booked late June 2022 and make park reservations. They may change and we plan and things.

We are another. We were planning to go again this year before my son turned 3. Now, with required quarantines from daycare and work, park reservations, our preferred resort still closed for the unforseen future - along with our big one - no magical express after this year, just not sure when we will return. I’m a planner and I just can’t see dedicating all the time it takes for a trip we truly have no idea what it would look like.

I want to go in 2022. I'm waiting until later this summer to decide. I was in WDW over New Years for 3 nights. It a celebration for a special milestone and I decided the next vacation in WDW has to be "more". I had a great time but there also a lot missing from it.

I can't even imagine most of 2022 if any of it will really have an issue with getting parks, capacity should easily be back to normal and remember even at 100% capacity the parks rarely truly every hit that. A busy slammed spring break kinda day at MK is only like 60%. Also I don't see it much different than having to make FP+ that was essentially picking your day ahead of time just not as far out.

I do agree that we won't know attendance for awhile, I really suspect they won't be anywhere near the crowds of 2019 for awhile there are so many families that would have gone that can't now, there will be ones scared to travel for awhile, ones that just don't want to spend the money and want to save since they saw how fast things can change.

We have a trip booked 1/29/2022 - 2/11/2022. Park reservations have been made for now, but will likely change once dining reservations can be made, based on availability!

We’ve booked a trip for January 2022, but have yet to book park reservations. Our AP ends in September, so we’ll likely wait to this summer before renewing and making park passes.

I made my reservations as soon as I booked my tickets. You can always change them, but doesn't hurt to have something set just in case.

I bit the bullet yesterday and bought two day Disney tickets for four people for our March 2022 trip. I was going to wait, but decided to just get this our of the way, since our condo is booked, we know exact dates, and already put together an itinerary. If for some reason these don't get used, I can do a fun mini trip another time or give them to my nephew who lives in Orlando.

Three generation military family between a rock and a hard place planning for a Jan. 2022 trip: Armed Forces Salute tickets may not come out til Sept.; can't reserve park days til you have tix; could book rooms now, then hope to apply discount later, but sliding scale is based on availability which shrinks as dates approach. That's assuming Disney renews the AFS discounts at all. Wondering what more will be open in Jan., indoor shows, etc.

We are going to be there Christmas week and know we need to book soon, but I really would like an AP (we allowed ours expire in December 2019) and shelling out $2K right now is not in the budget.
