What I mean by that is, is it a ride that my 4yo can be in the seat by himself? Can an adult ride with him if we want to? I know most of the rides are family rides. I am just wondering if there are some kiddie rides that the boys can go on alone and we parents just watch? Or is there always room for the parents to ride with the kids on each kids ride? My boys will be 4 and 8 yo then.

I'm pretty sure an adult has to ride with a young child. I remember once at Disneyland a woman wanted her two young daughters (maybe 5 and 7) to ride Dumbo together. The CM said they had to have an adult with them. She explained it's because the kids can easily unlatch the seat belt and the side of the car is open. The woman had to ride with them. I don't know if the rules are any different at MK, but I would think a 4 year old wouldn't be able to ride alone. You'll have fun if you go with him. I love riding Dumbo with my boys!:)

The guideline for children to ride by themselves is 7 years old. Some rides (like Dumbo) also check a height requirement and if the child is 7 but not tall enough they must have an adult ride with them as well.

Children under 7 must ride with a "responsible" adult. So you will need to sit with your younger child but the 8yo could ride alone if they so choose. But they can't sit together without an adult.

We had an issue at the Barnstormer when my dd's were 8 and 6 and wanted to ride together in one seat with me in the seat behind them. The cm asked my youngest her age and told me since she was under 7 I needed to sit with her.

Hi, I just wanted to say that riding Dumbo is so fun!!! Me, DH, and DS 14 months (at the time) rode together and he had a great time.

One adult can even fit with two children if needed. I rode with my DS5 and DS3 all together.

i am about at size 12 or 14 right now and want to get down to a 10 or less by June so hopefully that will make more room for us all to sit comfortably when we share rides :). DH is about a 36 or 38 waist too so neither of us are really "big" people and DH is only 5'3. I am 5'6. Not only that, I need to exercise to get used to walking all day at the parks! Thanks for the info!

Is it wrong for an 11 year old and adult to ride this ride...we missed it last time and would like to ride it next time...

I know of no laws of the supreme being, mankind, or Disney... or any outstanding contemporary social mores that will be violated.

Ride the elephant in peace.

Don't worry, the ride vehicles at WDW, even in fantasyland are made for families to experience the magic together. So adults will fit comfortably with one child and most of the time you could do an adult with 2 kids. You and DH will be very comfortable each riding with one child and most rides you can sit one in front of the other. Dumbo is an exception you will each get your own elephant.

Have fun,
TJ

Of course not, my dd's are 11 and 13 and we ride Dumbo every trip, sometimes more than once!

Everyone is a kid at WDW!!! My DH and I (WAAAYYYYYYYYYY over 40!!!!!!!) rode Dumbo -- just the two of us. And we also rode the Magic Carpets ... and the Triceritops in AK (both of those are similar to Dumbo). Didn't feel too old to ride the Carousel either! Ride what you like -- embrace the child in you! :thumbsup2
