Is DL under renovations like WDW?

Just curious if DL is doing all the construction that WDW is doing right now? We were thinking of taking our family to a 1st time ever trip to DL since WDW MK is under an extended renovation.

No. And yes. The DLR construction is of a different nature than WDW and is focused mostly on DCA. DL itself is doing very little at the moment. But that could change in the next year or two. DCA itself is adding a whole new land (Cars Land) to open in summer 2012 most likely. Bottom line is if you wait for DLR construction to stop before you visit it may never happen. Best bet IMO is to wait until June 2011 (when Little Mermaid ride opens) or June 2012 (Cars Land and the rest of DCA entrance makeover).

We have just got back 3 weeks ago from a trip to DL and WDW. DCA area near Bugs land is boarded up with the new cars land development and a few rides were closed. DL itself had no works going on.

MK whilst the renovations are major did not really impact the operations of the park. Although it was a bit strange seeing a crane over the top of Cinderella's castle. Only ride closed was Its a Small World.

We had a great time at both.

We just left the MK at WDW and the Tea Cups are closed as is Pooh's Adventure and the Pooh Playground. It's a Small World is open again.
